My channel shows 4-wheeling adventures, Ghost Towns, DIY Jeep builds / modifications, crawler hauler videos and Off Road & Desert Racing coverage. If I can get there in my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon then I'll try and get footage of it! We are on the West Coast, so I'll bring you some of the best four wheel drive trails of all levels on this side of the US.
The first time I went there was in the late 1990s I think. The Ore House was still open, the store was open a few hours a day, etc. What looked like an old log cabin jail was still standing next to broken down wagon and I saw people. Then about 4 years ago I was there and I did not see any people and could not find the log cabin jail. Or did I just miss it?
That's pretty neat that the Ore House was still open. I'm not sure about the jail. Most of the buildings were locked up and this was our first time here. We did come across one wagon which I included with some debris behind it. Possibly that was the jail? If I remember right, the old wagon I recorded was on the opposite side of the Ore House.
Where does Indian Trail go? The Forestry Service needs to put in more of those yellow reflectors. I got lost driving by myself because so many reflectors are missing.
Until I had done it 20 times I got lost some but always find a way up and down. There are a couple spots where you kind of have to be on the right spot to get up or down a ledge but otherwise you can just drive around and try to follow the tire marks.
I just built 4" extensions on each of my Jacks so anything can back under it. It is easy enough that you can take it off if you want to use just the trailer. They are powered jacks so I had to extend the pigtails on them also.
It starts at Sciots Tract Mile 42. There aren't actual camping sites - just open forest. But keep in mind, this area just burned last year with the Caldor Fire, so not sure how things look. Plus there's tons of tree companies up there doing work. (At least visible from Hwy 50.)
Thinking about doing this too. If you dont mind, whats the length of the camper as it sits on the deck (so from the back of the goose to the back of the camper), and also what was the dry weight of the camper?
Looks cool but would be to small for me. I'd have to convert a uhaul box or something with that much trailer and those chains look sketchy. I'd probably beef those up.
Cool video. Thanks. I've done the Con a couple times in my LJR. Took the Indian trail route... after watching this, glad I did! Lol. Hard to fathom this was once an old wagon road!
Thanks for watching Darlene! I am too novice and get too anxious to have a rider. Once I get more seat time and get more confident I’m hoping I can have more fun and not feel so overwhelmed. I have to say that this trail was a lot better than I had anticipated…Carnage4x4 Adventures may be able to have a rider if his friend decides not to go. I would know more closer to next year’s event.
@@TheTripledracingteam We will try!!! Our Crawler Hauler is there and we need to bring it back. Want to run Dusy... Hoping to combine Vorra with picking up the hauler.
Thank you very much!!! We’ve had the YJ since 1995 when it was stock. It’s been through some changes over the years…😄 I subscribed to you as well! If you’re local we’re always looking for people to wheel with.
Been on the Rubicon and a blizzard hit must have snowed six inches. I woke up and my tent was collapsed a foot from my face so much snow was on it. One of the best Rubicon memories I have Was that trip.
@@SkyBlueOffRoad Oh wow, really! We used to live in CO - we had our YJ's on 44's back then (same as now) and also owned an off road shop. Also had an S-10 truck on big tires (can't remember how big) that my husband would compete with. Our shop was in Frisco. Used to wheel Carnage Canyon, Montrose, Independence and all over Utah.
Enjoyed your video ! I don't have a slow crawler , but I did recently get a Honda , Trail 125 little trail bike 🚲 . Can't go into these kind of places , but enjoyed watching !
Thank you! I don’t know what kind of motorcycles they were, but we did see a couple of them on this trip on the trail. It’s one heck of a workout! I appreciate you watching and glad you enjoyed it!
Hi! I just stumbled upon your channel. Love the content!! I would love to be able to visit these ghost towns also someday. I only got to see Garlock, Bodie, and a few others. Thank you for traveling and sharing your journeys with us!
Thanks so much! There are a few towns very close to one another so I hope you get the chance to visit! Next to Ione and Berlin is a small old town of Granstville. I took video but there really isn't much there to see. Maybe I'll make a short video about it. I appreciate you watching!
