I love your textiles . Thankyou for such a lovely video . I have been wanting to make a botanical cyano type table cloth . So will need to be washed after use . Is this suitable ? Also can you use indoor lights to develop the print ?
@@sashaspring7193 Thank you so much for watching! 🤍🌸 yes! When you do your original rinse, make sure all of the chemical is out of the fabric and that the water runs clear. And then after that you can do another hand wash with mild soap. The color and image will hold up as long as the textile is treated with care- Hand washed and hung to dry. If using indoor lighting, make sure it’s UV lighting. Regular light bulbs won’t expose the print, but UV light bulbs will. I’ve done a few that way on rainy days. Hope this helps!! 🩵🌸
Amazing video Simone! I would like to ask you that how do you keep the print safe from not getting washed away after washes? how to protect the print (cyanotype on fabrics)?
@@harshbahety4301 thank you so much! I hand wash with mild soap and hang to dry in a cool area to avoid excessive heat over time with the dryer. And if you iron, I recommend ironing inside out to keep your prints for a long period of time. 😃
Stunning wearable art. What do you use for the coloured overlay print please? It looks like cyanotype but coloured. I’d like to experiment at home but I only know how to do the traditional cyanotype blue and white.
Thank you!! 🌸First the fabric/garment is dyed with fiber reactive dyes, which is essentially dye powder and cold water with soda ash. After it’s dyed and dried, then you’d begin the Cyanotype printing process. Similarly, you can cyanotype print on top of previously dyed fabric as long as the fiber is natural. (Cotton, silk, linen, etc) 💕🌸
I just watched!.i love botanicals..a lifelong learning of medicinal.. I am in México right now and want to experience trying to create botanical printing❤

Hi love! I’ll be back next week or so. I moved across the country into a new studio and business is a wild, amazing ride ..so I paused RU-vid to focus. Thank you sooo much for being here. I got you. ❤️
@@SimoneStyle no problem. I have always wanted to find natural ways to wear clothing and you just dropped a bomb for me and poof 🌫just disappeared. Can’t wait for the next video drop. I love you even if someone hasn’t told you today 🥰
With the cyanotype process, you’ll need to use those liquids specifically. They’re sold in different packages around the US, but Indigo dyeing and cyanotypes are two different processes. Hope this helps!
