The Town Council are very happy to work with and support the Museum. Henley is very fortunate to have this gem in our town. Cllr Ian Reissmann, Chair Finance Strategy and Strategy
Thanks for this! This is a great way of giving some background and context to the exhibition when we can’t visit but it would be a great thing to continue when things get back to normal. An overview of an exhibition with some background to the artist and theme would be a great way of priming visitors for when they come and visit the exhibition in person and may enable them to dig deeper into the exhibits when they get there and enjoy the experience even more. Like this one, an overview of the artist(s) and the thinking behind the exhibition would be great as it would put it into context and enable those visitors who are unfamiliar with the work to appreciate it more.
Don’t look a day older than when I, as a junior 19 yr old, had the privilege of 2x sculling with you in 1960 on the Serpentine! What a coaching career you have had and how things have developed in the rowing world! I now coach 1x ladies “of a certain age in” Cornwall!
This is a lovely tea time break - many thanks for this! I love his photos and as you say its fun to see what hasn’t changed when you look at Henley and the riverside today. Love the idea of sitting under a tree watching the river go by - something to look forward to in the Summer. Look forward to having a stroll to Marsh Lock from the museum and a cup of tea and cake in the cafe soon. Thanks again for these videos - they really are a great way to showcase some of the treasures in the collection, especially at the moment when we can’t visit in person. Hopefully they’ll encourage people who haven’t visited yet to come and have a look when the doors re-open!
