The Lynn and Louis Wolfson II Florida Moving Image Archives' mission is to collect, preserve and make accessible film and video materials made in or about Florida and which reflect the history and culture of this region. Footage ranges from home movies to travelogues to newsfilm and newstape. A collection of kinescopes of television news programs from the 1950s and 1960s from Miami television stations WTVJ and WCKT cover a vast array of subjects relevant to South Florida and the social climate of that era. An invaluable resource for researchers, film and video producers, and the general public, the Wolfson Archives provides a year-round screening and seminar program featuring materials from our collection and other archives throughout the nation and abroad.

Arthur Godfrey was a virulent racist and Anti-semite. People need to be aware of this man's past. Having said that, the video is pretty cool though, shows aviation in its infancy.

A pool of Negro league players, managers and others (circa 40s or 50s) put Smokey Joe Williams ahead of Satch. And Satch agreed with that ranking: "They got that right". Ty Cobb said that Williams would have been a sure 30-game winner in the majors. Williams threw as hard as anybody including Walter Johnson. I'd stack Williams and Paige against any 2 white pitchers. I'm not saying they would win all the time but they wouldn't get clobbered. Fritsch said of Williams: "You have a little respect when you face guys like him.' That's the ultimate sign of respect from a Hall-of-Famer.

Extreme racism in this video. Black men, this is why we need to record everything and be in control of our own narrative. Let's get to work.

LMAO where exactly is the racism? Is it the white people sending them free protection from Malaria so that they don't die? Or is it the white people donating to Salvation Army so that the Haitians don't starve?

People ( including Miami born artists ) still don't know the Miami main library and that it harbors Miami's biggest art installation painted by E. Ruscha. They only might have heard from it recently because the Philip Johnson designed building will be torn down to make way for two 84 story tall towers ....

Hurricane Andrew hit my first week of freshman year ar USF. We drove back home to South Florida to check on family and friends in Kendall a couple days after it hit. Alot of the beautiful homes in West Kendall were all gone. Beyond wild and horrible. All of us South Floridian genxers will never forget Andrew.

because the missile system is shut down the particular trophy extermination is approximately within an hour concept. if the missile system was going it would be possibly 26 minutes concept known as severe missile distress at 36 minutes. basically the timeline less than 36 minutes describes the amount of sufferance on the missile due to the fraud activity on the dignitary oftentimes more than one affecting the building treaty oftentimes more than one. we do ask abstention as people do not understand expert mechanics when in these levels of distress and only allow experts to do movement.

Fantastic stuff. Better than any crime drama. Better than a Scorsese film. And how stylish everyone is! Just loved that all this took place here in Miami, and you can still (somewhat) visit those locations today. With all the events that have happened in Miami all these years, why hasn't anyone done this before? Thank you for creating this and keep it coming! I'm sure you have lots more material.

Tom Prescott wants to erase the history of this hotel now that he has taken over and it's a shame. When I worked there, there were rumours that he was firing anyone who spoke about the ghostly phenomena. Even if he doesn't believe in it, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. There's been too much proof and aside, he can't single-handedly erase history. There's been several high profile figures that have felt phenomena on the thirteenth floor. I also found out a book that had been in the works with guest accounts of their ghostly encounters, which took a bit of time to get together, was forced to be thrown out by Mr. Prescott because he wanted to bury the truth. For the record, his father Gene knew how to run this hotel. Not only in keeping the logo on products (which Tom has removed) but had ghost tours every Thursday. These tours stopped after the pandemic.
