This is a Motovlog channel featuring motorcycle riding (2003 Softail Standard, 2005 Road King Classic, 2014 Ultra Classic, 2017 Ultra Limited, 2019 Honda Goldwing Tour DCT, and also a 2021 Kawasaki Z H2 SE). My motovlogs are not heavily edited. I don’t pander. What you see is what you get: Overweight, middle-aged transplanted Bostonian in Carolina, riding, talking, and sharing my experiences.
I have to give you guys a lot of credit I use to have a gopro just for safety and that was a lot I can't imagine everything vloggers do . I'm good friends with someone that vloggs the put lot of work into it. Try a 360 it mite be easier
Now it’s getting too strange. My third hobby is ice hockey and grew up with Season tickets for the Bruins for years…I think I saw you wearing a Bruins jersey in one of your videos?
Too funny. I’m a Harley guy but am considering a Goldwing and am also an avid sax player..all three of my daughters went to college in NC so I feel that we have a common bond. Glad that I found your channel.
@@maikeli7 just put down my alto after blowing some scales, chords and then a trio of Lynard Skynard, Van Morrison and Elton John!…talk about a bizarre combination for a sax player! Btw, please tell me that I was correct in that you are wearing a Bruins throwback jersey hidden behind your bari?
@@tctc2470 Yes! That’s right!! I’m a Masshole, born and bred. So who are your big sax inspirations?? For me, mainly it was Dana Colley of Morphine, but I really love so many: Prez, Carney, Payne, Mulligan, Webster, and of course, Hodges. 🎷😎🤘🏻
Had an Ultra limited. Sold it after less than a year. Was no fun to ride with a passenger. I now have a 2019 Goldwing. So much better balanced. Not to mention that thr Ultra wind buffeting on the highway was awful. The Goldwing allows me to completely eliminate wind buffeting. Alo love forward and reverse creep mode
I have a 24 Wing 6 speed. I love it. For me, the control of the gears gives me a " connection " to the bike. After 40 years of riding, shifting is second nature to me. And yes, I have ridden a DCT. It's just not for me. I just feel more in control with the manual. It really boils down to personal preference. Whatever you pick, stay safe and have fun!!!!
I knlw this is a old video. But i now have a 2017 ultra limited. Have already changed the tail light and flashers. Trying to figure out what seat i like.
That is why I bought a ranch style house . No steps, other than going to the basement. Just turned 60 , glad to have everything on the first floor. Ride safe.
You figured out way more complex issues in your life, I'm sure you'll realize soon that this is just a phase that goes by and then another one comes, most likely fueled by great success and you have 6" of air under your feet, again. 😂🧹
Man, I think we all need a nap! Glad you got ClipChamp running again. If you figured out Resolve, you could just go home, download the footage, drag it into Resolve, cut out the fluff, and hit Render and be done. :D
Spot on Mike. Ditto on all that, and as the bearer of reality, the downslope does seem to get steeper with each passing few years. Keeping a routine after retirement seems to be the best solution for me. As far as all the new ideas (simply self searching for some semblance of meaning in life) I yield to the words of Bob Seiger’, I wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then’. I think he sang that, but not even sure about that anymore 🥺😂.
Im 58 still working in a union job with Two guys ten years younger im keeping up but i dont have the drive like 5 to 7 years ago, 30 years next summer and just hanging on for a few more years. Good topic mike.👍
LOL, when I ride to work, I always feel like a pack mule, hauling all the crap I need for the day out to the bike. Davinci Resolve... excellent, embrace the dark side :D Ahh, the decline. Feel like I been there for years already. SMH. I find the topic confusing too - it just wasn't around when I was growing up. I know a bunch of people that fall into that category now, and I ask blunt questions about it, because I'm genuinely curious as to how they end up the way they end up. Great to see you riding again, my friend!
Thanks, RR! Good to be out on the bike! This whole week, I've ridden. I am glad I did!!! Most of the old people I've encountered, asked for or not, offer the same pieces of advice: "Enjoy every moment; life speeds up with every passing day!" The damage you do to yourself when young comes back on you twice as bad when you get old!" And then there is this: "Don't get old!" 😀 The decline started in my 40s and has only increased in severity! I gotta put that program on my home laptop!
@@maikeli7 That's awesome, man! The weather's been either super windy, rainy, or hotter'n heck, so I haven't been riding much. That's good advice, I should follow it... my youngness is coming home to roost, and that rooster crows LOUD. There, did I put that in old-timey enough sayings? ;) Yes, install Resolve. I know a guy who knows a guy who can help you if you run into trouble editing :D
Totally appreciate the narrative, spot on too. You are absolutely right M7. From the beginning. Donning the necessary gear to be full ATGATT takes a bit of “getting it all together”. 😂 But when we do, the beauty and specialness of it all is sublime. All the rest is also spot on. I’m 69. One hour 3X week at the gym and healthy behavior with food and alcohol coalesce with my Doc’s watch on hormone levels helps the physical demands of life and maintaining some small healthy perspectives. It’s not a perfect solution as the issues you mentioned are real and pervasive and directly impact us as we age. But it does help because you are somewhat in control of something. And it feels so much better than being totally unconditioned. A society gone mad. Like woodshedding and improving our musical instruments, day to day consistency with health is the key. 🙏🏻 Best in all ways to you M7. Hope I didn’t miss something in the rant.
Thank you so much, RG!! You totally get it!!! The erosion of everything by time must always be counteracted by the continued efforts of life! My Ma would call it shoveling shit against the tide! But she was right! The war may be unwinnable, but the outcome's inevitability does nothing to negate the need NOW to forestall its approach!!! I am hopeful to still be alive and kicking at 69, and I will heed the lesson of your experience!!!
@@maikeli7 And you will, if you approach the process like you do your Sax. Get started. Figure out where and when. Stick with it. Fall off, get back on. Just progress. Whatever it takes. If we don’t take time for our health then all of our hard earned wealth is spent on it. Start now. Deuces my friend.
Ain' THAT the truth!! I'm tellin' ya, Flip: Some days I ache so bad I can barely move a muscle! But I keep on fighting the good fight. As my Dad said, "Sempah Fi, Do aw Die, adapt, improvise, ovahcome, and NEVAH say die!!!!
Excellent commentary! I’ve been contemplating these exact thoughts as I begin my 40th year with my present employer. I see the young bloods picking up the reins and I’m to the point where I just want to slip out the back door into retirement. Again, excellent thoughts there Mike!
Thanks, my friend! It's always good to learn I'm not alone in my thinking. This kind of thought didn't become real to me until after the age of 40, with ever-increasing depth/seriousness! At a mere 53, I'm already feeling the world push me towards the exits!
