Back in 1986 when these were new I had one as my demo. I had already bought a 1987 ZX1000R as my daily ride. We had also just finished building our new house so those monthly payments made it impossible for me to buy the SRX600 so I had to settle for getting to ride it sometimes. Great machine.
Hi, I did write a little about it in a Dutch forum. But it was not exactly a build log, mostly just some discussions to acquire some info about LinuxCNC. If you're interested I could give some more info. Have the model in fusion360 and the settings for LinuxCNC HAL.
Thanks! You are correct, this is the pause-resume button. A better color would have been orange, but orange was not available in the salvaged buttons collection ;-)
Just for follow-up, I went onto fontspace.com and found two fonts (they look very similar to me). One was Limelight by Sorkin Type and the other was RitzFLF by Cassidy & Green - the first one was free so I didn’t check the second one.
Hallo Stephan, in het filmpje wordt er in eikenhout gefreesd. Behalve eikenhout frezen we ook regelmatig in bijvoorbeeld essen, plataan, acacia, iep, etc.
hi, Nice bikes! indestructible when oil is typed up regularly. I soldered the light myself. can send you the plans, but wouldn't recommend it though, was very tedious. I think you can buy 6v LED lights as well nowadays, there also used in old timer cars running off 6v I think.
Beautiful lathe, Benson lathes are very well made lathes . I have a smaller "Benly " and I think it a very nice little lathe, I posted a video of it under" Benson Lathe". Good luck with your lathe
+Mark McCrea Hello Mark, thanks for the comment. They are indeed very nicely and beefy built lathes for their size. I like that when looking at it it is already clear it is a properly engineered machine, 73 years ago they knew what they were doing at Benson. Your Benly lathe looks to be in good shape. Really nice to have the indent settings for the spindle, and also the full set of collets and chucks is very nice! Good luck to you as well. (also with the cnc machine, home built?)
hello Alan, thanks for the comment. I have to admit I had already watched your videos, info on the Benson is a bit rare it seems ;-) Your lathe looks absolutely great after your restoration, very much in awe. Also your video was very helpful in figuring out how to disassemble the carriage. regards, pascal
