Hell yes!...and so does Mikey!..he could sing lead if he wanted...BTW, hear him sing lead on "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love"on the recent tour?..I think at this point in time, his voice is better preserved than Sammy's...and he sang the song WAYYY better than DLR would be capable of these days....
Re-issues is a cheap music business way of making a quick buck as it takes less work to do. Release unreleased songs and not songs already heard a million times!
One of VH's best, damn this sounds really close to the tone of the original recording, sure hope this whole show will find its way online, awesome stuff!
as a guitar player, i felt that piano players had an edge technicaly, better ear. van hallen was successful because they wrote great songs. being a good player is all that is required. the songs are the secret sauce. eddie was an exceptional player. the best? even if wasn't, say a george harrisson level as a player,? he was a great song writer.
I love Sammy but Eddie could’ve done tours by himself with only him, his guitars and a 5150 rig and every show would’ve been sold out. “ The truth hurts you sometimes”
We were sitting in the renisance hotel in Indianapolis having a few drinks, we were the only ones in there, and in walks guess who ,but Sammy Hagar, and his antarage, he came over and spoke to us when they left, the girls that were with us asked him what for unlawful carnal knowledge meant ,and he told us that it was a ticket police use to issue back in the day when they caught you parking and having sex in public,F.U.C.K.
I love the piano intro in the original recording. It almost sounds like Eddie put a microphone inside of a grand piano and closed it off. You can here the piano strings so clearly. Brilliant!
