So this clip has been around! Steve Conti sent me a cd burn of this probably 12 years ago…… I lost it somewhere, but I was so excited to find this on RU-vid! This is stuff that will NEVER be done again, nor could it ever be done as well. True radio legends!
@@BenDeCastro Yup. Ice cream, hot dogs, root beer, milk shakes, that sort of stuff. There’s another milk bottle building in Raynham, Massachusetts, on 138. Used to go there too a long time ago. It’s still open. Road trip!
I saw Vi opening for Jeff Lorber in downtown Portland before it turned into an insane asylum. What a show. Frank was playing guitar on the second show a year later down on 2nd street by the river

Great interview and insight into a true knowledgeable guiding light for radio, Mike McVay. We've known each other for years, but I enjoyed getting some personal insight and untold stories. Thanks for the interview, Ben.
Steve one of the best in the world. A Massachusetts native and schooled at Berklee school of music in Boston. He left school to go on the road with Jean Luc Ponty which spearheaded his career and the rest is history.
... And Steve Smith, bon of a sitch! When cats like that can throw down on rock n roll, n then jus lay down the lumber/pound skins, like that on Jazz, free form Jazz... then u know they are world class. Non musicians as well as alota musicians don't understand how difficult it is to have the tech ability to play different genres of music at a master level.
I found this yesterday and every time I listen to it, it amazes me more and more. He sounds just like Kermit! Well done my brotha. Would love to see more muppet song covers!
