This came out beautifully!! I just finished my first Little Golden Book journal the other day, so much fun!! I like your method of the fabric spine, I might give it a try ❤Thank you for sharing!
This looks so cool. Now I'm thinking I need to find a Scamp Little Golden Book for any pictures we have left of our dog Scamp. (Like I need another project.) Do you have other videos showing how you cut the book apart initially and making the pages?
Thank you for subscribing. I really appreciate it! I posted a link answering your other comment. I hope that helps. Here is a link to how I stitched this journal together: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KfuvBvZPjMQ.htmlsi=Xn-WZ1lNtlwy3bJ1
you're talking about how you are adding things and I am like obsessed with your photos! LOL! I do love the pages from the little golden book - I haven't seen one with music like that, just precious. I shared it on the challenge thread. Great interactive elements
You can use your heat gun ( or blow dryer)and warm up the spine,it will release the golden spine, once it's removed then separate your signatures from your front and back covers
For a small piece of material-could you use a flat iron ? i've seen other videos where they use a flat iron, usually used for straightening hair and it was used on small pieces of material. Just a thought.
@LuvsSno There is NO NEED IN BEING SO RUDE! I DONT CARE WHAT YOUR OPINION IS,IF YOU CANT GIVE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM AND NOT BE A COMPLETE ASS ABOUT THEN,THEN YOU NEED TO MAKE YOURSELf DO BETTER,AND STAY oFF OF SOCIAL MEDIA! YOUR COMMENT WAS JUST RUDE AND DOWNRIGHT NASTY,DO BETTER!
As best I can tell by watching, I appreciate your technique. However, I couldn't learn much because you talk little about what you are doing. I hate to be critical, but you could teach so much about your craft if you talked about what you are doing. You did produce a beautiful journal.
Thank you for your comment. I’ll try to do better. I did another spine recently. Maybe I explained the process better in this video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_1R53jD4c8E.htmlsi=Fnja2oxMafO5yUun
Hi, for cutting the pages down and putting them back together - I see you are see double sided tape but what did you tape them together to? Just back to the original page? Sorry I couldn’t tell and would like to make these books since I have a bunch!
These pages are perforated. But I do the same thing with solid pages. I cut the pages on the fold. Then I measure 1/2 inch from the cut edge and score it so I can fold it. I put my 1/4 inch double sided tape near the crease on the 1/2 inch side of the fold. Then I cut that 1/2 inch down to something closer to 1/4 inch. Though it’s not exact. Then I nest the 2 pieces of paper together. I’ll make another video on this to make it more clear.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WExbJ_Wmvqw.htmlsi=2WIYnSx05xBQwUua I hope I did a better job in this new video to answer your question. I will be stitching these pages into the spine in the next week or two and I’ll be sure to point out where the papers overlap.
I use my heat gun to lift gold foil from book. When glue melts, it lifts off on it's own. Remove staples and signatures and separate covers. Cut down center of foil and reglue back onto cover edges.
I have several border punches I wonder if they will also give the edge of the rosettes a cute look! I think maybe not Watercolor paper for folding and constructing. But the end result still looked pretty good 👍🏻 😊. Did Luise have a process video for the rosettes? I’ll have to be on the lookout 👀 TFS!
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B5rDpyUtNIE.htmlsi=wIIakFyku_INqsRW This is Luisa’s RU-vid video in English where she shows how she made the rosette. I also think you should try making a rosette from your boarder punches. It can’t hurt.
E6000 is a great permanent glue. I used to use it exclusively at the beginning of my paper clip journey. The reason I switched to Power-tac was due to it being lower odor, less toxicity. Make sure you're in a well-ventilated area when using E6000. You clips are so cute!
Thank you so much for your kind praise and thank you for your amazing inspiration! Yes! The fumes are something else. I definitely have been making sure I am well ventilated.
Love the colors, love the experiments, great personality, subscribed! By the way, I have grown to very much enjoy the imperfections and splatters from the embossing process... adds an artistic unpredictable interest to a boring perfect page, in my humble opinion 😉
If you still have the whole sheet with the Tim Holtz packaging that it comes in that shows you the picture. The name of the die set is written on the back.
