This channel provides free crochet tutorials and patterns for the absolute beginner. I am dedicated to teaching the art of crochet to beginner crafters and inspiring them to make and create one-of-a-kind handmade items like blankets, hats, scarfs, dishcloths, and gifts. You will also learn the language of crochet, it's stitches and how to read a crochet pattern.
I created this channel because I love to teach and share this passion of mine that takes a raw skein of yarn and turns it into a on-of-a-kind item that is useful and pretty.

I saw someone use this stitch, but knowing its got a slip stitch i wont be able too! I am way to tight of a crocheter for anything with slip stitching. I cant do loose and airy.
I fell in love with the blanket and decided to make one for my granddaughter for Christmas.Just finished it i used 7 cakes .it turned out beautiful! Thank you for the pattern. Also the yarn is really nice.the 20%wool really makes it feel and work up great!
I am making a blanket straight for the first time. Your instructions how to do these two stitches worked for me when others haven’t. This stitch is so pretty. I’m hoping you’re planning on coming back. I really appreciate your videos. It seems I’m not able to subscribe.
I’m so glad I came across your video. I’m making my grandson an afghan. I started different stitches just to frog them. I finally found your video. I’ve already done a couple of inches. Then I’ll make one for my granddaughter and finally one for mommy and daddy. This pattern is so pretty, and easy! My husband, and I, decided all 3 afghans will be the same stitch! With your instructions, about the size of the hook as well, I think I’m be making 3 master pieces! 😁 Thank you so very much for your direction and explanations about the yarn and hook. Perfection. 👏🏼
Ok im a bit lost already and haven't even started 😊 I want to make a lap blanket so my chain would be loger right more then 25 then anybody out there that could help me out please
Thank you so much for this video. I started a granny ripple and really disliked how the edge was curling. Needless to say, after watching this video I tore out the eight rows I had done and restarted it using your method with the slip stitch in the chain and I have to say how much better my afghan is looking. Thank you again for this video it was very helpful.
I'm a tad confused. That's NOT the 2nd chain from your hook....it's the 1 one, isn't it!?! Also, we're always told DO NOT COUNT the loop on your hook, so with that in mind, how can it be the 2nd chain from the hook?🤔
I just finished my first “Granny Rectangle Baby Blue Blanket” and love it. Thank you for precise and slow instructions! I plan to make it again using the same yarn in the color “Pedals” (pinks and purples). I did something to cause a tiny “pooch” on the ends of the first row of granny squares. It might have been related to my tension or maybe I did something incorrectly, I’m not sure. I was so busy stopping and starting the video as I crocheted the first few rows I didn’t notice it until I was several rows in and I didn’t want to start over. It’s not really that bad, I’m just a perfectionist and want to learn what I did wrong. I was wondering if you offer written printable instructions as I would love to add this pattern to my Crochet pattern book. Thank you again for helping me learn how to make my first granny square blanket. I can’t wait to start my second one!
I'm so glad you found this video helpful and you love the result. This yarn is so nice to work with and the self-striping eliminates all the extra work of weaving in the ends. Here is a link to my website where I do have the pattern. kellyreneeveryday.com/the-crochet-granny-rectangle-baby-blanket/ Thank you so much for taking time to watch and comment.
After you do your starting chain and you are going back across doing the single crochet stitches, it looks like you are only going through one loop of the chain stitch. I like to do my first stitches from the chain using the back bump because it makes the line straighter. Would this affect the rest of the pattern?
You can definitely do the first row out using the back bump. It creates a nicer edge. And I am going through both loops on the top of the stitch. Crochet stitches tend to tip forward and the angle of the camera is not picking this up. I will be sure to make that clear on future videos. Thank you for watching!
Thank you for watching and commenting. Here is a link to a video I made with this same stitch…ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KDCbWF0bXp4.htmlsi=f92zSNxxB3wKz7Xm
