the usual play and not from the damper plate which when very worn would only give a tiny bit..I just did mine and it was worn. No real noticable difference with the new one installed. Same transmission ...
I have watched your video several times, in fact it looks like I will be moving to Victoria to live with my Cat 28 mk2 so it would be good to touch base with you?
I'm really glad to see that you are willing to get your hands dirty to work on your own boat. It really doesn't just save you money and also saves time. Has anybody who owns a boat knows that if you have to take it to the mechanic it could be a month before you see it again. First thing I do when ever I buy a new one is to order the factory manuals for all mechanical engines on board. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Sorry no vid of the transmission removal needed both hands, but very straight forward, unbolt the linkage bracket and 6 bolts and it slides out. I have it out again, as well as the shaft, as I am Upgrading to a ZF 10 and with the shaft out of the way, super easy and no need to move the engine.
