On mine, at least, the screws were different thread sizes and lengths. 2012 RS. And whoever assembled it used a powered driver, stripped the thread and bending one of them. But it's done.
Interesting. My 2011 SX210 does not have the access door on the steering side. I guess I have to lay on my back and crawl under the driver area. Problem? Battery was out when I go the boat and wires everywhere...hooked all black to neg and red to positive and something blue a fuse. So...not even sure how to hook up all the wires that are near the battery. Any help would be appreciated.
This is an amazing video. I have a 2015 commemorative edition convertible Camaro and this rattle has been driving me crazy for a few years and I’ve researched it until I come across this video and it’s exactly what you say it is. Very easy to fix after watching this. Thank you for taking the time to share this with everyone.
thank you thank you thank you i have a 2014 spring special convertible and someone who never worked or researched how to , has worked on mine, i am now going to fix it correctly. thank you thank you thank you !!!!!!
Great video! I have the exact same boat. What about the second battery? Did you install a voltage relay to charge it while underway? Like the Blue Sea Add-a-Battery kit ?
Did you re-connect the original harness back together after cutting it to use the speaker wires? I see there are still a red and black wire still there.
Anyone have a drain tube out of place in the trunk. The passenger side drain tube doesn't sit properly and it's bent so when it rains that bladder under the soft top leaks over Into the trunk. I can't find anything about replacing, removing or fixing this issue. Thanks
Great video. How much play was in the speaker cutout? The infinity specs say they need 5 1/16”. I’m wondering if I could use speakers that require 5 1/4”. I don’t want to do any cutting on the fiberglass.
@@oramac9 I have a 2020 SX210. Ordered mine in October of 2019 before covid hit. Paid 43K OTD which included a 3 year YES warranty and a Yamaha cover in Lake Havasu, AZ.
I only had 1' of positive cable left over. Not sure what kind of access you have through your fuel tank access hatch, but a more direct route from the batteries would have given me much more slack.
The quality of the sound might improve, but the head unit only puts out 20 watts, so the volume still wouldn't be enough to overcome engine noise at speed.
No issues. They handle the power just fine so far. In fact, I had to adjust the gain down on the amplifier, because it was painfully loud on the boat. Clean, but LOUD. I couldn't turn the head unit up beyond 50% before the volume was unbearable. Yes, the wiring is fine.
No, everything is already separately fused. But, I am contemplating bus bars for my positive and negative connections so I don't have so much wired directly to the batteries or the battery switch.
Thanks! Trying to fix that same rattle and my official GM service manual just says 'remove' for that bezel and not much better instructions for the rest of the 'Garnish'.
No noticeable power gains. I had already rejetted the carbs to deal with the cold-nature. I just wanted a throatier exhaust note instead of the putt-putt sound.
