It is with overwhelming sadness that we inform our friends and fans that at 7:00 tonight, Saturday, June 18, our beloved friend and bandmate, Clarence Clemons passed away. The cause was complications from his stroke of last Sunday, June 12th.
Bruce Springsteen said of Clarence: Clarence lived a wonderful life. He carried within him a love of people that made them love him. He created a wondrous and extended family. He loved the saxophone, loved our fans and gave everything he had every night he stepped on stage. His loss is immeasurable and we are honored and thankful to have known him and had the opportunity to stand beside him for nearly forty years. He was my great friend, my partner, and with Clarence at my side, my band and I were able to tell a story far deeper than those simply contained in our music. His life, his memory, and his love will live on in that story and in our band.
Bruce aurait pu l'écrire ce matin 🪷💖 Men walkin' 'long the railroad tracks Goin' someplace there's no goin' back Highway patrol choppers comin' up over the ridge Hot soup on a campfire under the bridge Shelter line stretchin' 'round the corner Welcome to the new world order Families sleepin' in their cars in the Southwest No home no job no peace no rest The highway is alive tonight But nobody's kiddin' nobody about where it goes I'm sittin' down here in the campfire light Searchin' for the ghost of Tom Joad He pulls a prayer book out of his sleeping bag Preacher lights up a butt and takes a drag Waitin' for when the last shall be first and the first shall be last In a cardboard box 'neath the underpass Got a one-way ticket to the promised land You got a hole in your belly and gun in your hand Sleeping on a pillow of solid rock Bathin' in the city aqueduct The highway is alive tonight Where it's headed everybody knows I'm sittin' down here in the campfire light Waitin' on the ghost of Tom Joad Now Tom said "Mom, wherever there's a cop beatin' a guy Wherever a hungry newborn baby cries Where there's a fight 'gainst the blood and hatred in the air Look for me Mom I'll be there Wherever there's somebody fightin' for a place to stand Or decent job or a helpin' hand Wherever somebody's strugglin' to be free Look in their eyes Mom you'll see me." Well the highway is alive tonight But nobody's kiddin' nobody about where it goes I'm sittin' down here in the campfire light With the ghost of old Tom Joad.
Ben Harper interprète My Father’s House, en hommage à Brice Springsteen, présent pour écouter sa version. L’une des meilleures reprises d’une chanson de Bruce que j’ai entendue!
In random this followed and it’s not the same really got got me wondering what it’d be like if Bruce had covered it too. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7YqlEjdBLvI.htmlsi=_Q2tACAivqTyzOkw
Huh, great musician.....but...also a champagne socialist. He needs to stay out of politics....I mean voting for a senile old man to be president is unforgiveable.
I come back to this every so often. Fallon is a student of music and an emotive singer. Cool how he went from performing bruce covers to duets with bruce live in hyde park or on the latest gaslight album history books.
Springsteen has twenty, thirty years on Ness and still looks better. Just shows what clean living and exercise can do vs. whatever Ness does. (One can only imagine).
Your ignorance is on display. As of 2024, Mike Ness is 62 years old and Bruce Springsteen is 75, so only 13 years difference in age. While Mike had a heroin addiction in the mid-80s, he has reportedly been clean since 1987. He is an active boxer and works on classic cars while also tending to his ranch in Central California. He is also producing others music such as country musician songwriter Jade Jackson. Dying one’s hair to hide the effects of age is probably not something Mike Ness would do, but you can ask Bruce about that.
Bruce was in concert in Prague in 2012, friend gave me ticket to see him. He plays this song first, i was simply mesmerized. One of the greatest songs ever written. And what a great man he is❤❤❤
