This channel is about one mans quest to Build a race car. Also at times even cooking food drinking with friends and traveling. I don’t really know where this will end up but it’s my journey. So hold on tights peeps it’s going to get interesting lol.
@@jhititup lol believe it or not this car is still on jacks stands. But in my group of friends this is a common swap. This diff is a 3.2 gear ratio so it would make the gears longer. The other option is a 3.9 that would make it feel closer to stock 3.7 .
@@gorillabuilt2489 After driving when changing gear from D to R metal on metal noise. I installed new bushings and control arms on the rear knuckles. Still noise present.
@@emanm6571 the best way to go about this is have a friend lay on the ground beside the car. Go from drive to reverse. See if you can see a lot of slop in the driveshaft . You might have a bad u joint or a worn thrust washer in the diff.
The measurement are for both bushings on the controll arm. The forward facing bushing and the rear bushing. Left and right side arms are the same size.
Man I would've tried dumping a flush cleaner into it and let it sit for a night and then blast it with high pressure water and air. With a little luck it may unclog. I just got my gs300 and Im afraid I'll have to do this
Only video I was able to find that actually showed me how to remove the hub and bearing💪🏻 I have a gs300,took me a couple days trynna find a video that actually went into detail
Bro my fucking man great video finally someone does a good video on the rear is300 been looking for a while u did the whole shit backing plate, bearing hub, knocking out hub bolts man u did it all....good shit my hat off to you !! Like I said finally shit bushing too all in one shit is gotta be helping tons of is300 owners!! I'm getting ready all this at a shop not if youvw seen the car care nut but im have him do my rear subframe and everything you just did here wanted to do it myself but im doing a collabe...but question did you replace the ebrake shoes!! Too would of love to seen that disaembly along with what u did my rear backing plate too is rusted out so im ordering alot of shit...hmu lmk what your planning next on is300 videos..thanks Man really enjoyed your video and just subscribed!
Unless you know how to do this very well I would not bother. If you have a good set off ign coil /boots they will stay secure and fire just fine. Don’t open a can of worms if you don’t need to.
@@ethangonzalez5221 oooh yeah you can still tap it. That section is not bead to fix. I would use a reversed direction drill bit. Sometimes they bite and pull the screw out.
I genuinely just want to make this change so I can have some nicer coil covers and there's not much at all for the GE So for my GE, I need a Intake - VVTI GTE Exhaust - a non VVTI GTE
Hey what’s up man thanks for checking out the channel. I can’t confirm it will fit but what I found on a forum might help. It says they are the same part number from 98-2003.5 ? www.clublexus.com/forums/performance/644623-gs430-vs-gs400-differentials-exactly-the-same-or-different.html
I have a question that no one has answered not even in the forums, i know the outside of thr valve covers goes to the intake manifold and the other one to the intake, but what about the other ones where they connected from one valve cover to the other do we do the same and connect them or do we plug them up because on the GE you only have 2 pcv places
If I had to guess I think you are referring to the vacuum lines from cover to cover. Most of the time when you are running a turbo everything runs to a catch can. So pvc is used for emissions purposes. So I would cap of the intake port and run a catch can setup.
Yo you are 100% right about the music. Till this day I am still editing shit on my phone with free movie apps. It cost like hell to do it right. Hang in there man I promise it will get better😂
@@gorillabuilt2489 Why did you link IS200 motor mounts? Those also look different from IS300 motor mounts, already from what I've seen they are usually cylindrical. In the link you posted in the description it also says in the details it doesn't fit a JCE10. That would mean you have a 3SGE Altezza/RS200/IS200 Altezza.
Bro, im doing this diff swap right now, could you please tell me how to you like these rear stiff metal mounts ? Do you daily drive this car ? Im thinking of getting poly bushings or weld metal plates in there
Well this car is still on stands. But I will say this. It depends a lot on power and purpose. I seen sooo many failures with poly mounts I rather go solid with anything over 700whp.
Nice video and good job 👍🏼 Do you may know how much kJ the ignition coil produces? I couldn't find the information online. I have the R8 ign coli's but they are tall. But I am not sure if the Denso have similar energy. Thank you!
They are recommended for cars no more 800hp . After that people move on to IGN1A coil packs but I have seen 1000hp on this setup before. www.sq-engineering.com/tech-articles/coilpack-info-guide/
So just to be clear these both came from non vvti engines correct? I have an na auto 95 Mk4 n I would love to go Na-T and run the get valve covers!!!💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I am sure that the casting roughness is there due to cheap manufacturing. Keep in mind manufacturers use plastic manifold that are smooth as a babys booty to achieve better airflow. Also keep in mind the injector design has more to do with fuel atomization. In my experience, I see dirt build up on all the ridges causing fuel to stick to the walls. Maybe you are right though, the stock injectors are shit so maybe it did work in its favor in that application? But for this specific application I think it will be ok.
@@gorillabuilt2489 i m no expert...if it works,it works...ive got an early 1jz ge in my '71 crown and follow guys doing work on gods own engine.good luck.
The stock ecu has waste spark the igniter uses 3 triggers to fire off all 6 cylinders. Off the top of my head I think they are ground triggering. You can probably use each trigger to ignite the corresponding 2 matched smart coil to fire in pairs. That should work you just won’t have any control over the saturation time of each coil. Meaning dwell time will be hard set by the Toyota stock equipment. Hope this helps if anyone knows for sure jump in.
@@gorillabuilt2489 I've been looking up to see, thanks for the response. Just having stock intake takes away the look of having coil on plugs so its kinda like, just wait until the ffim is on or try now 🤣 just so many things with it
Usually people start to notice a decrease heat function. Or is you are unlucky you smell and feel coolant on your carpet. If it gets to this point it really really sucks. If worst comes to worst you can bypass the heater core.
Couldn't someone just grind it down with a belt sander? I would think that one would just measure the 'steel/rubber' bushing length and grind the yellow one to fit. (?) I picked up an repo'd '04 IS300 for parts, so I can take the frame assemblies apart, refresh with super pro bushings and then re install. I don't drift or ''play' on the weekends. BUT here in the Memphis area, you have to be ready to swerve, stop or ____ because you never know what the heck these drivers are gonna do right in front of you. So, thank you for the good info. Also, what's your review on the bushings so far??
So there has been people who have attempted to shave them down including myself. The problem with that is that you will have to add stacks of washers to the outer sides of the bushings to keep it in place. The bushing is rather shallow so it needs good fitting bushings that offer plenty of outer support. That’s why it’s best to order the correct ones. Also I have not used my car since I made this vid. It’s still work in progress lol.
this takes putting a srt badge on a non srt to a whole other level. yall out here actin crazy, lol. re inds of back in the day people swapping hydundai valve covers on 4g63 dsms
Thanks it was easy to watch. I have an SR20 with 8 pin distributor. I would like to convert to coil packs. Could you explain how to convert the brainbox?
Well to keep it 100% I don’t know a lot about the sr20. 10 years ago I installed a haltech sport 1500 in a car. I remember using the triggers from Distributor to signal the ignition events but this was on a KA24DE. If I remember correctly the sr20 is already coil on plug with a photo sensor for cam and crank.
Sorry to steal the comment thread but would you happen to know how to bypass the ka24de s13 single coil. I have a megasquirt and trying to wire in a cop conversion
Towards the end when you filled it with engine coolant what tool was that? And why did you do that is that necessary or can I just fill the radiator with coolant and start it?
I used a air lift. It’s used to suck out all the air in the system. It’s just a fancy tool to eliminate air bubbles. It’s not needed, you can just fill it at the radiator. Run it at 3k rpm till the thermostat opens and all the air bubbles are out,
There was no special tools other than a 10mm socket if you can find one that is. Lol everything is pretty straight forward. You might just want to keep track of all the connections you remove. I will recommend getting a set of 1/4 bits with wretch tool. Some Philips head screws are in tight places.
Yes mines fits because I did not use a spacer . The spacer added a extra inch of height and width. I am actually thinking of selling this peace. Going a different route with my power level.
