Man this was extremely helpful I appreciate you. My seat was stuck and only moving on one side the right side. I watched your video and change the cable around in 2 seconds and it was fixed. I didn't have to take the whole side out but I did have to lift the seat all the way up. Extremely helpful thank you brotha
I just was gifted an 03 DHS and have been combing the interwebz for information on how to maintain and fix this. I am mechanically inclined but automobiles were the one thing I never seemed to learn, to many years with my hands in the mineral spirits cleaning the parts for dad, surprised I don't have a third eye, but I didn't learn a damn thing other than your skin tingles when it is in spirits lol @@JR2U
I have a 2013 chevy Malibu eco, my 12volt battery keeps dying it marks red battery logo on dash “service battery charging system” … took it to dealership for diagnostic they said i need to replace battery control module? What do you think? Could that really be the issue? Is battery control module the thing you showed in your video?
@@loganator78r so i replaced the entire hybrid battery, in order to replace just the control module its twice as hard and as expensive… so i got the battery at a junk yard $500 and did NOT have to program it as long as its from the same car, anyways installed the battery and bomb car was fixed…
You conveyed the general idea of what needs to be done, but when you started calling nuts washers and said, "Grab a 10 socket out of the standard set." You just about lost me... But It was useful for first time doing Northsrar plugs. Thanks for the upload!
@@JR2U when I flipped it only the same half moved an I am trying to figure out what I did wrong. One end had wire wrapped around the tips is that normal thanks for getting back at me to I subscribed
did you have to get the hybrid battery from the junk yard reprogrammed or was it a plug in and worked kind of thing? I bought a hybrid battery from the junk yard in Jackson, Missouri (Johannes Auto Sales) with 53k miles on it. I also got my generator/alternator replaced 12/2022 and a new front battery on 2/4/2023. All the hybrid codes you listed are now gone only P0016 cam shaft position sensor, crankshaft position system variation Not learned P0315, and battery light is on. Car starts up but dies. My brother said it's the generator and its under warranty with Smicklas. Smicklas dealership in Oklahoma said they recommend a new battery at $3600 and to reprogram it at $600, didn't say nothing about the generator, the main reason i took it up there. They claim they won't reprgrm the hybrid battery because once it's programmed to another vehicle it can't be reprogrammed to another. Which I highly doubt otherwise it wouldn't be sold at salvage yards...
@@JR2U LOL I knew Chevy was trying to get over. So when you plugged it in it started working, no errors? I got the whole assembly as well. And of course they don't want to say that they put a messed up generator in my car...
I actually need the video on how to remove that battery. Lol sorry if it’s self explanatory. I can’t even figure out the main power off switch let alone how to navigate it safely with all these warnings on it. Any help is appreciated!
I found it easier to pull all 4 coils by removing the 4 10mm bolts and the main connector and they all slide up.. rear is a pain.. I pulled the 3 10mm bolts out to move the secondary AIR valve bracket out of the way, but my valve would not swing enough to be out of the way, I took top hose off hoping would swing side to side as others had done. but to remove that rear air injection pipe, buy the gasket, Standard VG216, before start to work on rear.. waiting on my gasket before get to rear, I had a few coil screws loose so someone likely changed what they could and possibly did not do #3 and #5 in the middle, I have a #5 misfire so ordered a spare coil too.. So far, because could not get to rear I just inspected the fronts, they looked fairly new, put anti-seize on threads, and will swap all 8 when can get to rear.. They make ball style swivels too, they are better than the typical flex as they are smoother and will not jerk when you square them off... good luck..
I have some silicone tubing to put over the end of the plug to get each plug started and not risk cross threading as would spin in the tube before damaging any threads.. so I cut about 6" piece of tubing to do that job...
Also the anti-seize you used, next time the amount you showed for the one plug was enough product to do all rear 4.. that stuff goes a long ways,, maybe apply to 1/4 of the thread and let it spread..
So I replaced my timing on my 2013 Malibu 2.4 and won't start up everything on the timing is fine.but the code of the A0c4 popped up on my scanner.along with the iat sensor.i check for compression and won't read.could this be the problem my car ain't starting .the hybrid module?? Would appreciate if u can help me out here🤦🏽
Yeah, the back nuts were a pain, but not impossible. My recommendation is to go to a hardware store and perhaps buy 6 of those nuts just in case you drop any while trying to reinstall them. You can also attach a fine string, like a sewing thread looped inside the nut so if you do drop them, just pull the string to retrieve them. They are aluminum alloy nuts so they won't rust on the engine. Finally got both nuts off, and also the four bolts that hold the black bracket in place. I used an open end 10MM wrench to remove them. It certainly is the most challenging removal I've ever encountered to date. All you need is a lot of time to invest in this project. Everything was put together by 9:00 p.m. It's easy to drop the nuts, and or the 4 bolts for the bracket, or even some tools, so try and use electrical tape and join all extensions together and the sockets. I only dropped one nut and it didn't hit the ground, so it's lost. It started really nice, and idles like new. My 05 Deville only has 39,887 miles on it. The next time these spark plugs get changed, I will probably take them to a dealer. Knowing that, I took a hacksaw and notched each nex on the spark plug, and when I ask for all plugs back, 4 better have notches in them. I'm sick of taking vehicles to a dealer only to find years later they hacked the job, or shortcutted it. THUMBS UP, JORDAN!!!!
I want to do this myself and make sure I get everything I need to do it I think this engine is the same as my 2005 Cadillac Deville Base Model. My service engine soon light came on a day or two ago on & off. So for each spark plug there is a coil pack that goes with it correct? What tools did you use?
I made this video almost seven years ago so I can't remember the exact sizes. But it can be done with a basic tool set. You will just need an extension and a spark plug socket
@@JR2U you did a fantastic job showing this beast of a engine! Gm finest with this front wheel bs ! Very nice reading car for hyw and just plan driving! Thanks
Top hose is 20 mm just did mine on 05 dodge 4x4 Had the steering lock up on me. The bottom bearing of the worm shaft let go and locked my steering is this a common problem? Thank God it happened at a slow speed or bad things might have happened
Great video Jordan, I just bought a cady and I'm an average guy mechanicly inclined, no offence Jordan but if a guy that says I'm no expert and has very little knowledge of ratchets and other tools can pull a job like this my hat is off to you my friend.
