Maestro Doni, I am in Bacău until Friday, because a friend of mine conducts the "Pictures of an Exhibition" with the orchestra here. Maybe there is an option to meet in Bucarest or so? I'd like to show you my re-discovered works(and myself).
Brilliant!! What a wonderfully lively performance done with skill and verve. The ensemble was so beautifully balanced and integrated, and yet, I could hear all of the orchestral components distinctly. Just a superb job that had me appreciate the composer's mastery of his art form and admiration for the culture that provided him the inspiration.
Well, that's a compliment to Mozart rather than to Tchaikovsky, who simply orchestrated various piano and choral (no. 3) pieces by his idol; probably took him a wet afternoon.
