My brother and I are recording some old video game music that we loved growing up. Trying our best to put a metal twist and still keep the feel of the original songs. I'm playing guitars and programming the bass. My brother is playing drums on an old casio keyboard, for the time being (we're planning on redoing everything with an electric drum kit and better mixing and recording experience ;). At the moment, all the songs are from games for Sega Genesis but we plan on recording music from all consoles. Let us know what you think!
@@88anarahammertime I do appreciate that. I kind of just winged it for the faster part, but it sounded ok. My guitar is also tuned down a whole step, so to play it in the right key I had to change a little bit. The hammer on harmonics were my substitution for the natural harmonics JP does. Thanks again!
Yeah we're actually redoing this one. We worked with what we had and did these as learning projects so we'll have one that, at least, sounds a little better than this one soon. I appreciate the feedback!

@@VHDT10 Actually, don't worry about it-I've broken down and swallowed my pride, and just downloaded the theme music and converted it, to play on Reaper.
Hell yeah! You can definitely use it. Thank you! I'm making a bunch of games myself with Unreal. I'd love to try the game out, so let me know when it's ready and how to get it. What kind of game is it? Hopefully I'll finish one in my lifetime 🤣
Yes, but it's due to lack of marketing. The "best of the best" get popular because even if you have low/decent skill you can be a famous multimillionaire, marketing makes or breaks you unfortunately. You could be the best musician on the world and be the least popular musician in the world at the same time.
Hey I appreciate the comment! These were supposed to be quick projects to get better at mixing. I know it's not great but theres definite progress. Scene 6 is probably the best sounding, so far, but I know I have a long way to go.
Had to rush it a tiny bit to get it done before Christmas, but thanks for the idea! Merry Christmas. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0GU7h3obHDo.html
the biggest issue i think is that it doesn't have that lively part going through it. i've listened to a lot of music and that part is the best place for a guitar. As it gives many opportunities for guitar riffs. with out the lively part it feels like a different song entirely and doesn't carry the same weight as it did.
@@Orasaki again, thanks for your opinion. This was a project to get better at recording and I will absolutely consider what you wrote. There are many factors, but you need to start from somewhere
