Your are welcome. A friend passed away and we bought it from his family. It is a Weatherking with the loft area and was surprisingly easy to move. Sorry I don't know much more than that.
I’m in Mohave County as well, near the skywalk… you’re very lucky with the well depth, mine is at 1,500’ for 4.5 GPM at the start and I stop pumping at 2.5 GPM…. Did Brown Drilling do it for you? I use to fly a Cinestar, not with a Red mind you. LOL
Yes. Gene Brown. Lucky to have so much water so easy. We can pump 3000 gallons without slowing down. 1500 feet is long way down there. I think Meadviews wells are 700 feet
The best way to prevent rats under your trailer is set up traps like A large bucket filled with water and either a string or a small dowel with straws slit on them above the bucket put the food in the middle in between the two straws when they try to get it they'll slip on the straws and drop in the buckets and drowned before they ever make it into your house. There are a lot of different easy traps to do that with you just have to clean them out every once in awhile
Thanks for the suggestion. Been there, done that. I made water buckets with spinning bottles and peanut butter bait, and while I did get some, they learned fast and then avoided the buckets. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C7jNozM_R7g.html see at 6:40 in the video. We have some cats up there now and that has worked the best so far.
The 2500 Gal holding tanks were $1299 when Trump was in office, now that dipshit Biden is Resident they’re 3900-4600$. Democrats should ALL be ashamed!
Eric, you and Walker are doing an awesome job out there! Having a reliable source of water will enable your dreams to come true much sooner than anticipated! I know you'll also be providing a reliable source of water for the wildlife in your area, which is bonus! Good job my friends!
Been there and done that. Bullhead is very hot compared. Even on our hottest days, at 5000 ft elevation, as soon as the sun goes behind the mountain peak it cools off like an Alpine climate. Thanks for watching!
Well, I remember the day I was sitting on our old Sea Ray and I said to my wife, Look at that guy. He has'nt even moved off his boat and was quite content just sitting there. I'm going to go over and talk to him. Come aboard he said. We struck up a great conversation and when I finished my beer, I said ,where can I put the empty can. He showed me the cool trash can and straight away I said I want one of these boats. Eric. You and I have been good friends ever since and I have no regrets in buying our Chaparral. We had it for 13 years and our family couldn't have made a better choice thanks to you. You are such a smart person. There is nothing that you can not do. I take my hat off to you sir. Miss you and your family. Kiwi.
Thank you for that wonderful memory of our first meet on the lake and the compliments! We loved hanging out with you and your family. Miss you too. Come visit while we can still launch and my boat is running LOL!
Those types of problems are gut-wrenching, no pun intended. You could have gone on forever had it not been for your friend. It sounds as if the "design" of an original OEM water pump was the culprit. I am taken aback why you parted the old one and it didn't repair the problem. In any event, why isn't this peculiar and odd problem documented by the professional boat mechanics? Very odd problem, indeed. I am 74 and have had 5 different boats, me current and last one is a 21' bayliner. I live in Pasadena and have been to every lake over the years. Also I have been to Long Beach and Santa Barbara, and even gone to Catalina. However, with that said, our favorite all time spot? Lake Mead! We have explored it greatly, having gone from Boulder, up north to Temple Bar on a few occasions. Hard not to explore Mead when the water was up, but these days it's been iffy. Thanks for your fine video and WARNING. If and when the temp rises, I will immediately think of you! May safety follow you and your family(s) always. Fellow boater, Neb.
Thanks for sharing your story. Yes, odd that even boat mechanics use the aftermarket pumps found on ebay with googd success and no one even mentioned OEM. One guy said the pump was originally designed for the smaller 5.7 but Volvo decided to put it on the 7.4 knowing it would be marginal. However, my problem was not marginal. There was no water at all.
Hi Eric. Im looking to buy some land and do exactly what you're doing there. Live in an RV while I work on my property. Did you need a special permit to be able to live full time in your RV or is it allowed in the county you're in? Thanks
In the past, RV's just needed current registration. You can still do that but limited to two weeks per year. Now we had to get a county permit, legal septic and inspection. All that coming in the next video.
What a beautiful home you have, nice design. Thank you for going through the steps you had to take and explain everything along the way to get your system to pass. Very informative.
I bought a home built by preppers- electric heat pump, 500-gallon oil tank in the basement for backup primary heat, AND a 500 gallon buried propane tank for the rangetop only(!) , The water heater and oven are electric). The house and the tank are both 21 years old. At the rate I'm using propane it will be a hundred years before I need a refill. I had a local propane supply company check it when I moved in three years ago, and thet certified it after replacing a weeping primary pressure regulator... but they did a leak test, not an anode protection test. Should I buy a cathodic protection testing tool kit do I can take my own readings on occasion?
Hey Eric, great video! Question, is the park service going to do any prepping of the ramp area past the cement launch? There are a couple of piles of dirt that could be push out and flatten(groomed) for when the launch possible opens. The level is at 1075.76 - 2/19. It looks like the dirt area after the cement ramp has eroded due to rain water going down the ramp. It’s less Area then in your video. Would love to touch base with you. If you are ever out driving around, say hello, Bright Angel & Stillwater. Joe
Thank you. At a meeting last year (that I did not film), when Justin was "acting superintendent", he said there would be no more improvements to South Cove concrete ramp period. I plan to launch as much as possible before they close the dirt ramp to trailer launching entirely as water level drops. Here is a video I made of one of the meetings at MCA in case you did not see ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T8c6Id4GjPo.html
@@arizonaeric9598 yeah I know they can’t extend the ramp any further. But they could smooth out the dirt they have at the end of the ramp before the water level goes above it. It looks like the right side of the ramp has eroded away from rain water going down the ramp. There use to be more dirt passed the ramp. Well hopefully the water can keep rising like it did last year🤞🏻🤞🏻
I was born and raised in Kingman. I can help with that Cougar and those pesky hogs!! LOL.. And we could make some delicious jerky from those Deer!! lol. Is there a part 5??
What a great video. Shows how such a small oversight can cause a big problem. Troubleshooting a problem is always the hardest part. Your knowledge of how the system in your house was put together allowed you to solve the problem fairly quickly. Nice job! This is not the only place where not using dielectric unions can cause problems. Plumbing systems using dissimilar metals comes to mind as another. Thanks for posting.
That is an amazing view point on the recovery. My uncle's company was the recovery contractor for this incident. So it was cool for us to see your view.
Thanks! The dielectric fitting info and webpage are in the video if you watch it carefully. The anode was the last one from a local company going out of business. I dont think we will ever see that price ever again.
Gonna be buying land out there once taxes come in, your doing a great job, keep up the awesome work and remember its okay to take breaks don't burn yourself out.
Ok, so for some reason I still think I could maybe do this one day, lol. You laid your conduit before your driveway was poured, what would I do if that's not an option? Can't really visualize how to get the wires to the box otherwise. Thanks for such a great video btw!
There are water pressure tunnelers but you have to backfill. Or you sawcut the concrete. I have sawcut after thoughts many times. It's not that big of a deal as it sounds. There is always a way
Hi, great job first of all. I can never do this. Too much electrical work involved. At the end of the video it seemed to me that when the gates open, the gap between the gate and the post is wider towards the bottom than towards the top. Am I correct and is there a reason why?
All the info you have asked for is in the video at 9:29, including the Home Depot part number, manufacturer part number and the POS fitting type. Please check there.
My wife and I are building a Timber Frame cabin from lumber I milled myself in Williams. After watching your video I can totally relate! The first 3 years was dirt work. Driveway, septic system and then the foundation for the cabin. I bought a 40 year old Massey Ferguson. Hydraulic leaks, new tires but it runs good! My son is a Master mechanic at a Drilling Company which helps. Beautiful property you have there. Awesome there are so many like minded people in Arizona. We are neighbors. Our neighbors welcomed us after they found out I was a Blacksmith and Timber Framer. It is a lot more work than I anticipated but so rewarding. Living "debt-free" is a thing especially now. Get out of the "matrix". I don't like the matrix they have created so decided to create my own. We'll all make it by helping each other. Good luck. Subscribed.
Wells were already there at about 370 ft 12 to 15 GPM. I pulled the 240 volt pump from one well and replaced with a pump that will run solar. 30 to 300 volts AC or DC. Two panels runs it full until the float switch turns it off. Nice not having to run the generator, one less thing to do. That will be in the next episode, coming soon I hope.
Just installed a GT Master SW300DC and I need to reprogram the controller. The gate only opens about 1/3 of the way and then closes. Any help would be very much appreciated.
I have found that happens when there is a restriction. A new installation may just need some adjustment as to the limit switches. If the gate opens or closes too far and hits the resistance protection it will act like that. I had to fuss with mine to get it right. Good luck!
My roommate had a cougar while living with me. The cougar community disdains the name Mountain Lion as they aren't lions, just like the indigenous people were improperly called Indians.
I'm praying you can get some place to live closer to school because those early wakeups wreak havoc on a kid's circadian rhythm. Kids, especially teens, need to sleep in to achieve restorative REM sleep no matter what time they go to bed. Studies show early mornings are detrimental their test scores and emotional development.
Thanks for the prayers. It's not about sleep. She gets up very early regardless. We have since bought a house in town close to school, but have taken her out and now doing online. It's the horrible influence of other kids and incredibly broken parents who buy drugs and alcohol for their kids to pacify them. She now she does school on a Chromebook and we travel the world, which is going quite well, and a benefit her friends dream of. Not the way I grew up, but the world has changed.
Wow.. posted 2 years ago and I'm the first to comment.. :) It's good you confronted him. He's only asking for trouble by not obeying the signs.. Speeding.. let it go. We all do it. Running a stop sign out in the middle of BFE.. ignore it.
Thanks for commenting! We have had 3 vehicle related, needless deaths, this year, in a town of 1200 people. Sent video to Fedex corporate. Never heard back but, the driver and his boss are gone and the new people are much better. Rumor has it, the boss was hiring crackhead family members as drivers. Sorry to have not ignored it.
@@arizonaeric9598 Yikes.. Not good stats with such a small population. That's sad.. no reply. How unprofessional. Maybe resend it with a couple of local news stations and the police department CC'd..
Bought land close to Meadview. Been out twice to access it and Monsoons apparently knew I was coming soooo, didnt quite get there and almost got got caught up in more than 1 "wash".. Moving out there in the next few years when I retire. Hopefully access will be better by then. BTW....I work in Industrial Maintenence and Engineering for Kubota. That tractor you have is a good one. Sorry you had issues but long term I think you will be glad you bought it. If you want to buy new, let me know and I may let you get my Company discount! Great video and keep posting your progress out there!
Many thanks. Yes, monsoon rains have washed out much of Meadview recently. I retired and will not afford a new tractor. I have learned a lot repairing leaking hydraulics seals and control cables by myself, a new skill I never imagined having to learn. My son has been doing local tractor work and he has done really well helping many local people with washed out driveways, many who need to get to Kingman for medical appointments but do not have 4 wheel drive vehicles.. Please forward any local tractor work for him you may know of to help folks out. 626-826-5308 Walker Mooneyham
I subscribed about 6 months or so ago. My comments on your Off Grid vid will indicate as such. That last plane was really cool... the way you controlled it hovering. Super ! Beautiful music too. A very sweet, enjoyable and entertaining video. Awesome camera work too. I realize this is from 2014 and I'm viewing it in February 2023 ! I could Google it but I will be lazy and ask is Lucerne Dry Lake in Arizona or California? Big Time Regards from a 4th generation native of Chandler (Arizona).
Since you have chosen to give me advice, can you answer these two questions that might boost your credibility ? How far is my septic away from my well and what distance is required in my county?
