That's a great question. A binder shows that you have made at least your initial required payment and coverage has been bound. A Certificate of Insurance (COI) is an official form with shows coverage amounts, dates of coverage and proves that coverage is currently in force.
Our homers insurance canceled us due to the fires in California, but this is where it gets weird. My broker told me about mercury policy and I said well send me the paperwork and I’ll think about it. I’m gonna shop around so I never sign that paperwork I end up with AAA and now six months later, finding out that they signed up that policy anyways through Mercury without my permission without my signatureso now I have two home insurance policies isn’t that stupid company? Workers Compensation is vastly scandalous and in mostly every state is a monopoly but do very little to properly protect workers. Each state has their own statutes and some are worst then others and typically protect the insurance companies and businesses from any real liability. As a typical rule of thumb no workers comp settlement will reach over 3 million no matter how hurt you are and the medical portion will probably be the costliest but you as a injured worker won't know what that is unless your state allows for a settlement for both income and medical. There is a no fault clause and you can't sue a employer regardless of neglect unless criminal, as a injured worker you can't receive pain qnd suffering, no matter how severe or how long your in the hospital or suffer due to your injuries. Sounds pretty slanted to me, as a worker your lucky your even protected.

Well, I'm a tiny sole proprietor musical instrument repair business and so far have not been able to get any insurance because either insurance company web sites don't know how to categorize or process me and thus, won't let me proceed, and there's no number to call an agent OR the ins company won't insure a certain part of my business like consignments and used gear. This was supposed to be simple, but it's a nightmare, and my Landlord requires me to have insurance. UGH!
I looked up their website and there is no diversity at the leadership level based on what I see on the site, which makes me wonder how they recruit diverse talent if there is no diversity at the top. Yes, there appear to be women in leadership based on what I see on the site, but there don’t appear to be any black and brown faces.
