I do not think it is the climate or anything, I myself think it is pollution of the water trickling to impoundment basins from neighborhoods that are poisening waterfowl and birds, people are putting nasty chemical waste down their drains on a daily basis, this could be why birds of all kinds are acting in a different way.
They eat seeds, bugs, worms! The heat is so horrible that a lot of animals are struggling and dying. Put out bird feeders and water if you can! My boyfriend and I are putting out both in a shaded area of our neighborhood where tons of birds and squirrels live. Also put out sunflower seeds for them. They love those! Make sure to change out the water so that no bacteria forms!
We’ve had a bird feeder in our backyard for years and suddenly in the last few months the birds started getting weirdly close to us to get at it, and they’re flying weirdly. Wild swoops.
