It is not advisable to try and fill the joints between the blocks with sand and cement. This should be kiln dried sand only. Hope that helps. Ricky@Smartseal
We do supply a range of coloured roof coatings. You can see a related video on our channel. The product is available through our website. Jake@Smartseal
Is the surface screed product shown at 3:50 still available? I've checked your website but can't find it, if you could point me in the right direction.
Have to say this video and one other I've watched by the company are excellent. Clear descriptions, honest about product effectiveness and range of application and sensible too. Glad to see health and safety also properly covered with what are no doubt potent products. I have ordered a patio sealer for my block paving, a cleaner product for the limestone part of my patio and about to order a sealer to use on the limestone once I've got rid of the black spot.
Hi - If I was to colour my driveway a grey colour, is there a grey sand that would be used? Not sure I fancy the idea of a yellow sand in the joints of grey blocks.
The product is very strong at 50% water to 50% product (1-1 ratio) for surfaces that do not need intensive cleaning a ratio of 2-1 or even 3-1 could be used. Hope that helps. Alex@Smartseal
My chaps laid and imprinted the drive last week. They are due to attend to seal, is it a full day job and how many coats should they do? Its similar size to that slate drive.
The type of sandstone can vary the coverage rate, due to its porosity. Polished sandstone cover rates are generally higher. The sealer itself is suitable more all forms of sandstone. Hope that helps. Josh@Smartseal
@@tidybrickslandscaping The Dry Finish sealer can be used on all forms of Sandstone. The use of colour enhancer or wet look sealer is not advised on Kandla Grey Sandstone. The mineral composition of Kandla Grey Sandstone means that any type of colour enhancing sealer can go patchy. Hope that helps. Nigel@Smartseal
Hello Paul, thanks for your comment. Yes, the product should only be used sparingly, responsibly and only when a patio has been badly neglected. Hopefully by helping people look after their patio's better, it reduces the need to have the surface replaced. This in itself would reduce environmental damage by not having to excavate natural resources or manufacture paving products, cement, concrete, etc, Regards, Nigel@Smartseal
If you have efflorescence on your charcoal blocks, ideally this should be treated before sealing. The sealer itself (samples available) will leave the blocks looking damp, generally this does disguise/mask the white marks. Hope that helps. Alex@Smartseal
Thanks Alex, when you apply the treatment, I assume again you spray? How long do you leave it on? Do you rinse it off and apply sealer straight away? Can you post link (so I get the correct product please) Matt
@@mattmatt6153 www.smartseal.co.uk/cleaning-products-accessories/patio-cleaner/efflorescence-remover.htm full instructions on the label Matt. Hope that helps. Regards, Josh@Smartseal
Hello John, sorry to hear about this. For the majority of people this product works very well. Please send pictures to nigel@smartseal.co.uk and I will be in touch. Thanks. Nigel@Smartseal
Will not cause damage and then the small print states blockwork and Davies may discolour what's that if not damage and as for the process I can put a video showing that for me at least it did not work on two occasions on different types of block paving and and paving slabs nearly £40.00 down the drain
Hello John, Sorry to hear about this. Please send pictures to nigel@smartseal.co.uk I will try to work out why the product has not worked as hoped, and be in touch. Thanks. Nigel@Smartseal
I’ve just purchase 5L. Tomorrow is good weather and I have high hopes after unforecasted rain ruined my patio after sealing. Wish me well folks. Will update 😊
It should be ok, but we would suggest ordering a sample (available from our website) to check that the sealer can adhere correctly to the Sandstone. Hope that Helps. Josh@Smartseal
We supply a specific coloured sealer for Paving Slabs, called Patio ColourSeal you can see the 'how to' guide on RU-vid channel. This is a thinner viscosity that will soak better into Patio Slabs. Hope that helps. Jacob@Smartseal
Tarmaseal can be applied / re-applied at any time, if the work is not completed on the same day, it can be completed over subsequent days. Hope that helps. Jake@Smartseal
The more coats you apply, the shinier it will become. Over time, it will always 'dull down' It will cover mortar residue, yes. This is a solvent based sealer. Not water based. Samples are available for testing. Hope that helps. Nigel@Smartseal
I’m so grateful for these Videos I’ve watched and rewatched I had really old concrete slabs and decided to give a go only down for me I did not buy enough as I wasn’t sure about it but will measure remaining area I am delighted either way the outcome as I’ve done this on my own took about 3 days but very happy with outcome bought thru b&q very happy
Ive looked ive watched, ive checked sitea and I see grey, more grey, black or red. It does not tell you much other than it creates a coating. Where do you get info on colours
Hello Kevin, there are product specification and application documents next to each product- www.smartseal.co.uk/sealers/block-paving-sealer/block-magic-dark-grey.htm If you still have questions. Please call us on 01268 722500 Thanks. Josh'Smartseal
This is a 'thicker' formulation Sean, which is not suitable for Concrete Patio Slabs. If you need 25L we would recommend buying the - Concrete ColourSeal- see www.smartseal.co.uk/sealers/concrete-sealer/ Regards, Josh@Smartseal
We would suggest repairing with either a sand and cement mix. Or some form of 'sweep in' pointing compound. Any variations of colour in the pointing would be masked by the coloured patio sealer. Hope that helps. Josh@Smartseal
Hello there, Which product I can use to seal my brand new limestone with not change it colour? As I don’t want polished finish either a darker colour tone. The ideal will be the same matt finish as it is now.And can I only use roller to seal it as it is not a huge area. Thanks!
We have a 'dry finish' Natural Stone Sealer (sample available) That will not change the appearance, but will protect against the elements and staining. Hope that helps. Josh@Smartseal
What should you do if someone has applied the sealant incorrectly and pulled out some of the sand and then left it to dry with sand stuck all over the paving? Could it be removed with a wire brush? Will it wash away eventually? Or do we need to wash it all off with xylene and start again?
We would suggest trying a sample (available through our website) and seeing if the masonry cream achieves what you are looking for when applied to plaster.
We do have a clear wood sealer that could be applied, the alternative would be an oil (which we do not supply) In our experience, we would suggest avoiding coloured staining products. Hope that helps. Nigel@Smartseal
The builders have left concrete based dust trails on my tarmac. It isn't like lumps of concrete but trodden in dust. I will try to wash it off but if this doesn't come off, does tamaseal paint over it without seeing any pale grey dust?
If the issue was caused by a solvent based acrylic or similar sealer it would Clive. Samples are available for testing. Hope that helps. Josh@Smartseal
😄It was filmed over 15yrs ago Bill when we 1st started the company. We did not have much of a budget and technology has changed a lot since then. Regards Josh@Smartseal
