I wish to have other lights. These OEM lights have very bright rear light and brake-light. But the turn signal has the shape and position of an arrow, pointing to the wrong side. Also the overall shape is to much exposed, so that there are (ugly) protectors availabe. There should be lamps, narrower and closer to the license plate, with more distinguished signals and brike-light. And please not nonsense of those pea-sized lamps (like Kellermann Atto)...
Hi Steve, you mention the pair should run thru 4 circuits in order to get the max benefit out of D7 Pros. Does that mean that we cannot connect another pair of lights (I.e.D2s) with all functions running? (Flashing, cancelling, etc). By the way even though you use 3 circuits? Thanks in advance. Hakan.
@A Bike Thing, but what about Parking Mode on the Innovv? Q: Is parking mode / crash detection still functional when wired into the Hex/CanSmart when the motorcycle is turned off and unattended?
Hey, @Steve, I appreciate you making this video for the Triumph 1200 community. We know you have sold your 1200. I got the 2023 Rally Pro and hoped you could make a new video using the D7 Pro Denali for Triumph 2024.
For daily driving, the D7-PRO is unnecessary. The older D7 was already too powerful. This opinion is from other motorist safety point of view ( thanks to the dialdim, the light brightness is controllable). However, from the owner driver point of view, the D7, which is what I've got, great confidence during night driving. I'm sure the D7-PRO is definitely an improvement on the D7 but since the D7 does the job very well even here in Africa, and also in consideration of other road user safety, I'll still say D7-PRO is unnecessary.
Thank you so much Steve for this video. 100% happier having seen this walk through of the process! I’d add that the 1290 SAS manual in PDF format is available from the KTM website - useful for confirming any torque settings during reassembly. Thanks again for a great video 👍🏻
A quick question. I installed the chigee (with cameras ) on my Husqvarna 701. I liked it, but the cameras were utter shite … and I found in remote areas (Portugal and Morocco ) the Apple phone GPS was NOT as reliable as a Garmin GPS radio . I swapped it for a Zumo . So , bear with me .. I like the new chigee mount .. for the R1300GS. What is the advantage of a chigee, on the GS compared to the NAV6 that normally sits in that position? I can see only disadvantages… that the phone needs to be present and connected.
Great video thanks very much much - I gotta say I hate all the complicated plastic panels with literally 100s of screws - especially hate seeing Phillips self tapping screws on any plastics - I’d love to see an adventure bike with simple plastics like what you see on a motocross bike - all holes should have a metal collared bushing - all we need is side radiator panels, radiator guards, a fairing and a screen - that’s it! Basically a Dakar bike approach - only what’s needed 😊
I’m buying in last year, blind, having to wait until may 24. This is my first GS, normally I’m riding only Triumphs, including Tiger. But the new Tiger is nothing for me, that’s why I preordered the GS. This was my worst investment when I ever done. The noise from the valve train, especially on the left side, is just a disgrace. If I had heard that sooner, I would never have. The same with the BMAKRA. What a waste of money. Regardless, the GS feels like it is made of 80% plastic. Horrible. But, yes it’s drives likely, light-footed and fast. But that’s all.
Does anyone know if the PD mount will mount on something smaller than standard handlebars? I'm wanting to mount this on my Vespa, and the only spot it would work would be on the stem of the mirror.
Just bought mine from A Bike Thing. Great service and fast shipping to the US…even received a piece of candy with it! I paid a little more as shipping to the US is not cheap. However: 1) an extra year of warranty is worth it; 2) Steve’s channel has been such a technical help as I’ve outfitted my new GS that I wanted to patronize A Bike Thing. Call Denali and ask them a question about their lights…chances are that they will refer you to Steve’s videos and advice. If you own a GS, you need A Bike Thing…. Update: I just “installed” the navigator. One thing I think you should highlight is that it has integral GPS to, I’m guessing, enhance accuracy. I’ve not seen this mentioned anywhere but my device said it was tracking multiple satellites and gave me a lat long location before being synched to my phone.
You should do a short and concise video for ChiGee. Part 1 - the marketing part where you explain quite well why this device is so useful. Then part 2 for the technical parts (you should get a 100w batter and use the correct cable and set battery type correctly).
If the K1600 had OEM auxiliary lights fitted and I wanted to remove these and replace with an EZCan and Denali lights (reusing the mounting positions) does the BMW Canbus complain when you disconnect the OEM lights?
45 minutes of your business being advertised .. could of been about 10 minutes long.Just spent 5 minutes fast forwarding. I cant sub to adverts. Akro sounds pants. J&H pipes are definitely the best just shame about the £1700 price tag
