I think when you do something like this you're interested in how the tune is made up, the chords etc. and this is good to see For those of us who were into the cure in their early days this is very much appreciated. Hope you do more Cure tunes
I played this is a cover-band back in the day. We were actually playing it when the gulf-war started in ‘91. The bombing started & was on the bar’s big-screen. We finished our set & called it a night, because the singer’s brother was deployed there & nobody was showing-up to see us, because a war was on TV. 😂
Very nicely done! Can't believe you just uploaded this a week ago - such an old song I was looking for. You're only the second person I've ever known named Kerwin LOL
on the "you've changed part" I am hearing maybe a quick passing D add 9? chord. The song uses those open strings chiming that was jhs style. for instance it sounds to me like the intro is actually Am7 with pinky on high E on 3rd fret G? the pre chorus part that you are playing I think might be a little off cause the bass line i hear I think goes C, B, A rest then D, C, B but it is tricky bc CH plays slightly different voicings and chords from what JHS is playing. I would have to listen to it again. however there are parts that I think you have spot on. I think your picking is great and gets it close. Also the Verse section I think goes b7, G, Am7 D with the added embellishments and then on last line goes to B7 Em7, Am7, D. Thanks. I think your sound is very good. Are you running your effects in the order as presented and what is an AC tone? What delay, what chorus, etc? Thanks.
thanks for the insight - i'll have to listen again :-) i have to agree - i want more chiming haha - the ACtone is an AC simulator (or pedal) - supposed to mimic a vox - yes, in order
thanks Rick - appreciated...because getting a satisfactory guitar sound for the video is usually more time consuming than the guitar playing itself :-)
