@@willthomas3399 r-44 is known for extreme, engineering flaw called "Mast Bump" it might have been fixed with parts as they issued a recall but 5 years ago or so, people were dieing left in right due to mass bump
@@95TBake The helicopter is perfectly safe if you simply flew it without exceeding its limits, also this is the most produced helicopter in the world. The only reason this helicopter has more accidents than other helicopters is because there are more Robinson R44’s flying around in the world than any other helicopter, most accidents are caused by pilot error. Also, since this is a very cheap and affordable helicopter many beginners and flight schools are using it, which increases the risk of an accident by pilot error. And if your worried about mast bumping, don’t fly it like a fighter jet and you’ll be fine. This is a civilian helicopter, it’s not made for doing crazy aerobatics.
@@95TBakenot a flaw moron. Mart bumping is a phenomenon that can occur with ALL teetering hinge two blade rotor systems. Like nearly all Bell helicopters. Mast bumping is the result of poor piloting.
I could have kept it, it will probably do just fine to keep the old tbi. I opted to buy the Holley 502-9 replacement tbi, and it's been a headache. Should have done more research. Probably going to end up doing a Holley Sniper and let it tune itself out. Great engine though, I love it
