hi - I'm from the US, but now live in Braga. You picked a good time to visit, during the São João festival. The entire city is a massive street party. Glad to see you're exploring beyond the typical places. Braga is a blast :)
I know many people love going to the Sāo Joāo festival in Porto. If I had to choose between Braga and Porto for the festivities I would choose Braga. Certainly is a fun town but if one has time to do both. Do both. Both are fantastic.

Just got back from an amazing adventure in Braga and Gerês, Portugal! Braga’s mix of history and vibrant energy blew me away-especially the views from Bom Jesus do Monte. www.youtube.com/@AtypicalVagabond?sub_confirmation=1 But the real highlight was Gerês National Park. Stunning hikes, waterfalls, and hidden villages made it feel like an untouched paradise. Met some locals, had great food, and it was overall such a fun experience. Check out my latest video for all the details-it’s definitely a trip you won’t want to miss! #AtypicalVagabond #Braga #Geres
Valença, Portugal, has this magical vibe that makes it feel like stepping into a living postcard, but my absolute favorite thing? The ancient fortress! Walking along its massive walls with stunning views of Spain across the river is an unforgettable experience. The history, the architecture, and the breathtaking scenery all around-it’s pure wanderlust fuel! If you're itching to experience hidden gems like this one, hit that subscribe button. Trust me, fellow adventurers, you don't want to miss the next stop on this epic journey! www.youtube.com/@AtypicalVagabond?sub_confirmation=1
It is relatively easy to get to from Coimbra. You can take a Transdev bus from Paragem (nearby the Baixa Train Station) to Conimbriga. The problem you may experience is getting a ride back. You will want to have a taxi number on hand to get a ride back. Ubers and Bolts are probably not going to show up. Driving in a car it is only about 20 minutes away.
Guimarães is truly one of Portugal's best-kept secrets, and I’m so excited to share this incredible city with all of you! If you're an adventurer looking to dive into some authentic Portuguese charm, Guimarães is a must-visit. www.youtube.com/@AtypicalVagabond?sub_confirmation=1 Let me know what you think of the video and if you'd add this hidden gem to your travel list! #AtypicalVagabond #GuimarãesAdventures
Thank you for your comment. Comments like yours help me improve what I do on RU-vid. I truly appreciate it.However, my videos do not utilize AI narration (not that I am against them). The voiceovers and text were created with Adobe Premiere Pro, which took quite a bit of time. I have tried AI narration, but the problem I've found is that it lacks emotion. There is no inflection in the words. Yes, it sounds like me, but it still sounds very robotic. Hence, why I don't use it. So, long story short, I'll work on presenting better inflection and adding more emotion to my video voice-overs so that I won't come off as just another AI robot. I've also learned some better techniques on clipping the voiceovers to improve the sound quality (that way it sounds less choppy). Again thank you for your observation.
Yes, definitely. There is a Pingo Doce and a Continente Bom Dia in the baixa or downtown area. There are many mini mercados too for fruit, veggies, soap, etc.
Hey adventurers! I’m so glad you enjoyed this deep dive into the vibrant nightlife of Marrakech. There’s truly something magical about Jemaa el-Fnaa square after the sun sets-the street performers, the sizzling food stalls, and those dazzling lights all create an atmosphere you must experience to believe. www.youtube.com/@AtypicalVagabond?sub_confirmation=1 I hope you loved the rooftop terrace views as much as I did! Watching the city glow with the Atlas Mountains in the background was a highlight. And yes, exploring the souks at night is a game-changer-fewer crowds and an extra touch of magic in the air. ✨ Thanks for watching, and stay tuned for more adventures! If you have any tips or questions about Marrakech, feel free to drop them in the comments below.

Exploring the medieval festival in the castle was like stepping back in time! The costumes, the food, the atmosphere-it was all so immersive. I loved watching the knights joust and the musicians perform. Definitely a must-see for history buffs and anyone looking for a unique experience. www.youtube.com/@AtypicalVagabond?sub_confirmation=1

Braga was an absolute gem! 💎 The Bom Jesus do Monte is a must-see, but the city's charm goes beyond that. I loved getting lost in the narrow streets, discovering hidden squares, and savoring delicious local cuisine. Braga has a perfect blend of history and modern life. Definitely recommend it for a weekend getaway!
Driving from Porto to Ponte de Lima is the most convenient option.Taking a train north means you will need to stop in Viana do Castelo. From here you will need to catch a bus or utilize a ride share. However, when you make it here take your time to enjoy the town. It truly is an amazing spot in Portugal.
It is much easier to get to Geres by car. However there is the 201 bus that will get you there. You definately would want to stay there for the night and take the 201 back to Braga. aitc.cimcavado.pt/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/201-Braga-Caldas-do-Geres-2.pdf
Having dated Paul for almost 3 years, I wish he treated me with as much respect as he does his fans. None of his past girlfriends or 3 wives have anything good to say about him.
I'm sorry he treated you so poorly. You and those around him did not deserve to be treated so poorly. Hopefully, life today is treating you in a much better fashion. Alcoholism and drug addiction are a mother fucker. It doesn't just destroy the individual but everyone around them. There is help out there for those that want it. Dear Atypical Vagabond in Portugal I hope you are well. Your recent videos look great but aren't reaching your target audience. No matter how good your video is, without proper SEO, keyword research, and correct titles, descriptions, and tags, you won't stand out from your competitors. This results in losing views, which is a big challenge for your channel. Fixing these issues will help you gain more viewers and subscribers, leading to higher rankings on RU-vid, all organically. If you'd like, we can discuss your channel further and provide a report highlighting the issues with your channel. I believe this will be helpful for you. Thank you!
People thought I was crazy to travel to Portugal last year, but I had a great time! And this wasn’t my first solo trip; I’ve been traveling solo for over 30 years.
Thank you for watching. Portugal is unique and a fantastic place to try solo travel. If anyone else is considering a solo adventure they should put Portugal high on their list. My first solo adventure was when I was 18. Being young and dumb, I learned plenty of mistakes along the way. Many of my suggestions seem common sense, but they are things I could have used back then (If I was willing to listen). ;)
Aviero is only ~45 minutes away by train or car from Coimbra. Easily doable as a day trip. Aveiro is a cool town but Coimbra has many more things to do. Of the two you will want to budget more time to be in Coimbra.
I absolutely love all this solo travel content! It's inspiring to see people exploring the world on their own terms. It makes me seriously consider booking a one-way ticket somewhere amazing! I'm going to go check it out. I have a hard time with better than and worse than. I think this video captured a unique moment. I do believe that we are not the same through time and space. So it is about capturing the moment and experience... Michel certainly shows his passion for music. I think this evening was unique to the other times I have heard him play. I always smile when I hear this tune, but when I rewatch this it takes me back to this moment. It is very special to me and one of the many reasons why I love Coimbra.
Ah yeah you just had audio issues. In person you slayed that song. If you can invest in a remote mic it will help you out. Your other stuff is really great too. I went ahead and sub'd... keep following your passion
Absolutely insane Black Flag show in Porto! Even though it's been years since their heyday, they still brought the hardcore punk energy. Seeing these legends live, especially while traveling, was a bucket list moment for this music lover. Is anyone else a Black Flag fan?
