So now that you have a few flights under your belt are you happy with the amount of power at 81lbs? Do you have to fly it with full throttle most of the time? I’m trying to decide Fiala Valach 250 or 420cc
@@terrys.20 the 250 works very well. Most of all the flight is at 60 to 70 percent throttle. I do have a 300 for her as an option for next season, but we will see. A 420 would be a bit much in my opinion but you may feel differently. I prefer a scale performance and so far so good. Currently I’m running a sep 28 x 18 four blade, may try a 29 x 16 next.
Excellent info Herb. Thanks! I thought the 420 might be too much and not enough prop clearance. Varioprop out of Germany makes a variable prop with replacement blades to attain exact RPM you are trying to get.
Terrific work indeed ! A labour of love . The detail work i.e the rivet heads trully stunning ! And although l understand why you have the propeller required , a 5 blader would have been super . Congratulations Sir ! Nerves of steel to take to the air 😊
I was going to write 'shame about the small non-scale prop' but having just watched the maiden take-off ............. probably for the best? Fabulous re-build Sir, particularly the new colour scheme.
Oh, that was some awesome flying right there!!! So who was the third pilot to join you and Derwin? Was that Butch? Good job landing your plane with the engine running sour. Did it throw a push rod? Very impressive gaggle!!! Charles Wright
I have a J B 1/5.5 Seafury built it a few years ago turned out nice but needed a lot of weight up front to balance a lot more than the EME 60cc engine that i had in it . photo on Cali Graphics website Sea Fury RCN #800 Graphics Set
Why would anyone paint that truly ghastly and stupid colour scheme on that original sea fury anyway ??????? Having said that, what a truly magnificent restoration. 10/10. Great craftsmanship to convert a ghastly wreck into something amazing.
Well done that man. Beautiful job, and a fine maiden. My pipe dream is to build a Bates 1/4 Tempest V, and watching you do the maiden did give me sweaty palms. Hate to think what they will be like if and when my turn comes!
How brilliant, amazing and well done. Sharing your vid with my build crew, our Fury is full scale tho 🦘🇦🇺 couple of short resto vids on my channel, she is no where near finished, big project. All the best Deb from HARS Aviation 👍
Thanks for sharing all the work that it takes to get this Sea Fury restored and back in the air. Keeping focused on the goal of flight means very careful work to make sure all the systems are perfect and that too much weight doesn't sneak in. The successful test flight is the reward for all the endless hours of craftsmanship. This is something to be proud of.
