I ordered 2 x carp combo after seeing this video and both the reels have the same problem I wouldn't recommend these to anyone waste of money.said I need to return them but at my cost which was too expensive due to the length of the boxes.
truly..........im looking for a good allround ten foot rod, is the recovery on the cast good too. im sorry, asking very very late after this video. i know the recovery is so important for accurate casting. as i said to a friend, who adores golf, a fishing rod is similar to the different golf clubs. all have a purpose as the clubs. barbel fishing, carp fishing, feeder, float fishing. and the distance each needs to cast, hit the perfect diatance. rods are in a way similar. sorry, as ive spoken too much are these rods still available, as i see the video is 2 years old
Video had as much time devoted to plugging the Shakespeare rods as it did to the title - rigs and baits. Nice video (shooting, presentation style, the cut-aways to wildlife and scenic shots). But too much infomercial content.
In the UK we tend to buy them from fishing tackle shops. You can breed your own, it isn't hard, but it can be a bit smelly. You can find videos on RU-vid explaining different ways of doing it.
@seatboxboy - Nick will use a 2.5oz or 3oz version for this style of fishing. Anything lighter would hamper casting when such force is required to hit a long range :)
Thanks for this. I’m trying to learn bits to help my 12 year old who’s just started. Can anyone help or tell me how to tie a rig onto the elastic in a margin pole please?
@gyaldriplikeaknackeredfrid5829 they have recently gone down, they originally retailed at 150. I have a bad feeling the frasers group (owners of sports direct) have brought out shakespeare, if so I suspect the quality to massive drop and shakespeare to get a bad rep
I did away with elastic and top section brought a 4.8mm ptfe bush 16-18 elastic and a puller bung now its pulling in carp 12+lb easy its a good bit of kit for margins carp rod for anthink els 👍🏻
Looks a good beginner’s kit. As I have previously said on other kits Shakespeare has bought out. I Really don’t understand why Shakespeare put barbed hooks in it. Barbed hooks in a beginner’s kit are as useful as a chocolate fireguard.
