Cool! Hope you enjoy it. Yes it can do that! You just have to set it up properly for the speed run. You need the right pinion gear shock setting tires and wheels and set the toe. You should be good to go from there :)
Hi there, sweet video and nice looking truck indeed, wondering what oil shock currently using on those upgraded shocks. Mine are on the way and would be great as a reference. Cheers.
@@Sentinel-RC-racing ya I was pretty bummed out to figure this out, hooked up a couple different 3s batteries and couldn't get it to work was confused for a sec then I took esc out and it says 2s on side otherwise I couldn't find anywhere else that it was 2s max. Would be nice if they advertised that, unless I missed that. Have a hobbywing system on order. I see you haven't made a video for awhile. Are you still running this vehicle?
@@jonl6335 yeah it can be a bummer but you’ll learn some valuable RC tech skills in the process. Yeah, I still run my pro4. I have a few videos I want to put out on it. I haven’t made a video in a while just because The weather here in NYC didn’t allow me to run my cars much. The out door track I go to gets slammed during the winter months. Once all this rain we’ve been getting stops flooding the track I’ll be able to get out there.
@@Sentinel-RC-racing ya I've got about 8 rc crawlers, my first venture into the sct branch with this one, my boy bought himself a slash last yr so i did a bunch of research and to me this one looked like a very good affordable option. Good channel you have here, thank you for the replies
@@jonl6335 wow! 8 crawlers! Hah I have 7 SCTs lol! I love those vehicles. Yeah the Pro4 is super durable and is race ready. Handles jumps great and is well balanced you’ll see! It should eat up the slash :) thank you for the good words!!
Hiii, thanks man for the good words!! I’ve got to change my set up now. The castle system just stopped working again. I sent it back to Castle and they sent a new one and that stopped also :/ sooo I’m going over to Hobbywing. As far as the different tires, I was trying out different combinations to see how well the car reacted on the track. This wasn’t a bad combo but I’ve since gone with all pin tires. They felt better all around. I also change tires based off the track condition. Loose dirt I use pins and tight packed or clay I use bar tires or slicks sometimes
It’s a the wing for it! You purchase additionally. It more for looks though in my opinion. I’ve gotten rid of it since I dropped this video. Also made a bunch of changes to the body. I usually cut out excess plastic to help fight against parachuting effect SCTs suffer from
I gotta say…fresh out the box the Senton 3s is the fastest RTR SCT you can get. Not making any upgrades. And it’s super durable! I like them all though SCT that is. I recently purchased the Tekno SCT 410sl kit. I also have a TLR SCTE 2.0 and a TLR 22SCT 3.0. And a TLR eight X/E 2.0 i just finished building. Lots are super fun. You should give it a try if you haven’t already.
I just bought this truck , haven't ran it yet , might be good and helpful to know, let us know how it works for you , keep up the great videos, I just subscribed
Thanks for making this video. I’m new to the hobby. It’s nice to have someone reviewing r/c that we can actually get in the states but isn’t senton or slash. I was about to buy a BL-2S until I saw tower hobby had this on sale at $179. However all other videos review the brushless version.
New Sub! Nice job. SC10 body looks awesome. Personally, I would cut out smaller pieces of the back panel to keep it stronger. Maybe because I can’t paint as good as you for replacements 😂
Hiii, I’ve had to switch the steel drive shafts out about 3 times because they break at the hub axel. I have my pro4 sidelined for now because I’m contemplating on should I put the factory ones back on. I do like the look and ease of changing out the drive shafts but they aren’t so durable to be honest.
I like the way you used both fan covers. I'm going to put that on my g3 esc. I race 1/8 offroad with it, so it will help a lot, I think. Cool video! Subbed to the channel, too. 🖐
Hey there, my apologies for my late response. I totally missed this message. Yeah both fan cover help in keeping out the little pebbles that fly in. You’ll see. Thanks for the good words and sub.
Hi ! Thank you for this test. Excuse me for my bad English, I'm French!! Does the protective net come with the car? Were you riding with a 2s lipo in your head? Thanks in advance and happy new year my friend! 😀
Hii, I don’t think so. It just felt light over all. Another thing is …I’ve got to service it. The outdrives need changing and new CVAs are needed. The ones I have on are bent so I haven’t been running it much lately. Updates are on the way for sure
Which esc do you have?? The LCD program box works with the Xerun pro , Plus and the high grade esc. The other program card works with the quicrun line esc. Maybe that’s it.
@@jstump1972 ok. Well all I can say is make sure the wire from esc to LCD is plugged in correctly and the vehicle turned on. If you haven’t had it more than 30 days try returning it for a new one to see if the issue arises again
Hey Joe, I haven’t either this is my first. The parts looks well made and feel good. I have yet to run it. I just finished the build and I have electronics inside but I need a .08 mod pinion with a 5mm bore. So I’m waiting for that to arrive in the mail. Then I’ll take it to the track and feel it out before racing it. I’ll also do a review video soon.
Hey man! Absolutely!! Just here in NYC the weather has been not so good for outdoor racing as we’ve been having lots of rain and really cold temps. I so want to run this again on the outdoor track we have here in the Bronx called Gunhill RC raceway just gotta wait for better weather.
Nice. I've been racing mine here near Tampa FL and actually doing decent against Teknos and TLR's. The weight sounds like an excellent idea.@@Sentinel-RC-racing
@@Sentinel-RC-racing I did just order a Hobbywing 10bl120 g2 but currently swapped the electronics from my Kyosho Mad Van into the Pro4. So, 4000kv 60amp Brainz10 speed control. Will keep the motor but upgrade the esc. Aluminum front A arms and diff fluid tuning but otherwise stock.
@@niz76 nicee!! Those aluminum Arm should give some good weight. I run a castle copperhead 10 system in mine 4600kv motor. I run stock diff fluids. I think they’re way different from my other SCTs. Like the pro4 SC10 is 60k,100k,3k Front center Rear. Other SCTs are way lighter in fluid
The right tire is 80% or more of your performance. If you don't have the right tire, you can change everything else on your car and still not be competitive.
When you run 3 cell batteries, do you switch to 1/8 scale buggy tires? 3 cells will spin the short course tires so fast they balloon and when that happens, the truck will become almost undriveable.
Hey, No , I don’t switch the tires. I keep the short course tires on. I have my tires vented so they balloon but not crazy and besides I only race my Truck on the track. On the track you just can’t pin the throttle all the time so that cuts down on the possibility of ballooning.
After putting tape over the holes in the rims, most then put vent holes in the outside of the tire right in the middle of the tread. This allows any dust or water to be thrown out of the tire if any gets in, trust me it does still get in even after taping the holes in the rim. The vent hole in the tire tread also helps reduce tire ballooning by letting air out when the tire balloons. This is pretty standard practice now venting tires on the outside & no vent holes in the rim, now being used by a number of major manufactureres cars.
Since it was originally a a brushed system, when I did speed runs it would hit 37-40mph. After going brushless I began hitting 49-50 mph. Then I put on some street tires lowered the shocks and put a larger pinion gear in and used a 3s & 4s Lipo pack, I was able to hit a top speed of 60mph. I stopped doing speed runs with it because it’s a short course truck and it’s not aerodynamically built for speed runs! They are for the off road track so thats where I run it now. The speed runs were fun for a period but the truck suffers too much when doing them. Which vehicle do you have?
@@Sentinel-RC-racing actually looking to buy my first one you were the only one to review the brushed version on here in your first video so I figured Id give some of your content a watch. Tower Hobbies has it for 200 bucks right now taxes and shipping included, high 30s sounds more than enough for me! Thank you Sentinel o7
@@jaredanderson7494 cool! Thanks ! The price sound nice!! Just know that when purchasing the brushed system it does not come with the light kit which is a pretty cool feature on the Pro4. You can always install the light kit on your own should you decide you want lights. Lots of short course trucks don’t have front and rear lights, to have them is all the better! Also the brushed system thermals out quickly. You’ll need a fan to help keep temps down so it won’t cut off from over heating. Cheers !
@@Sentinel-RC-racing had it for a few days now, the little thing really rips with the battery included but Im only getting 15 minutes for 7 hours of charging next step a faster charger and some extra batteries. Thank you again for the content on the brushed version I probably wouldnt have jumped on the deal without it!
@@jaredanderson7494 love to hear that man!! Glad you’re enjoying!! Yeah look for a charger that charges at 10amps. Let me know if you’d like some suggestions! Cheers
@@justinperot1112 cool! I brought the brushed version too. I quickly made it brushless! I’m running a Castle system copperhead 10 esc and a 4300kv motor.
