Beautiful part of the country but you have to get out of invercargill to see the real Southland. West coast drive, Catlins, Fiordland, Te Anau plenty to see.
Just came back from NZ few days ago & this video came into recommendation 😂 i didnt go to the southland as it was too far (apart from manapouri-te anau & milford sound, thats hard to skip), but this looked like any other small town in NZ to me. I’d belive if someone said that this is Ashburton 😅
Thanks for showing this trip all trips I've done between Invercargill and Dunedin, while working at Edendale, Gore and Clinton I have never been this route.
I lived in Invercargill back in 1965/69 as a young person & had a variety of jobs, one I really enjoyed was diving for Paua out at Orepuki about 20 minutes drive south west of Riverton. Riverton was a lovely quite seaside small town, not far from Invercargill.

Hi Maestra, Thank you for asking for some information about Invercargill. Invercargill is a small city compared to other places in New Zealand. The weather is a bit cold and windy. We have a southern Tec in Invercargill. No university and closet uni In Dunedin. Where are you from? Are you already in New Zealand? Thanks
@SANRU - NEW ZEALAND not yet. I am a teacher, and I have an interview in one of the centers this coming week. I have teenagers, and one will attend college, which is why it is one of my concerns. How far is the university from Invercargill? Like Otago University? Is it true that university is zero fee?
@SANRU - NEW ZEALAND thank you for your response. I am in North Carolina, USA, right now, and my contract is about to end this June. Invercargill is a good place to live in, right? Even if it has cold and windy weather? How about the cost of living? Like house rentals, food, transportation, internet connections? Community and the people?
@@beshiejhacaguiluz, Hi, Are you American? I think it's better to make a holiday trip to New Zealand and travel over if you are really interested to move in. Everywhere is different. If you want to study at uni, please contact them. Everyone's aspects are different and hard to answer some of your questions. Generally, it's a good place.Thanks
