how many ounces is this after blending with the quinoa packet for 725 calories. i love this recipe . we need about 730 calories for my sons tube feeding. thank you donna moricone
I've been using the 150ml syringe with what was called a 'stopper' and the resistance on the plunger sliding builds up quickly,,,, if, IF... you don't use a food grade silicone lubricant(spray). I would only get 2-3 uses without the food grade spray before discarding syringes costing >< 2.5$-3$ apiece. So '3' meals and replace got expensive. So wash, spray and stage syringes, I get my lub spray from academy sports, 12.99$- 11oz., and buy several at one time. The plastic 150 ml syringes last almost indefinitely now and I may throw out 5? 6?,,,, a month of a 50 syringe supply... instead of tossing 50 before months end. I nearly died at first and thought what the heck, the throat cancer would win and dropped down from 165Pds to 103pds. I got the 'Y' tube and started finding a 'Base' and as of yet just use a base. Nestle Boost with 530 calories per 8oz., so 2 X 8oz fills 3 150ml syringes or 'one meal's calorie need considering I want 3,000 calories a day. About 3 times as many calories as what is given in the hospital by volume Boost versus Hospital tube food I'm back up to 143 pds and while I think the radiation is done after burning taste buds ect I still am on Chemo so more calories, more calories, more calories. 8 months now and I really miss food.. like day dream about cooking lolol. Even broke down and bought a entire set of All-Clad copper core pots and pans! I look at those beautiful pans walking through the kitchen... for a couple months now for positive attitude. Here's hoping I can find foods other Nestle to consume
Hi, I watched your family history video. I was deeply moved by your courage in starting this business, Are there any FB or websites to chat with other families using tube feeding. I don't want to feel I am alone with this. My granddaughter is being tube fed most of her 4 years. Thank You and God Bless you and your family. The Real Foods products are excellent. The pump does not work well so we are leaning about using syringes and possibly the Bolli bags. Looking forward to seeing more helpful videos!
I used Mineral Oil as a lubricant for years but a much better option is Silicone Grease. Over time the rubber tips on the plungers swell up and eventually become unuseable. I believe this is due to the rubber absorbing moisture from the lubricant oil and the bolus formula itself. I have switched to using food safe silicone grease. The brand I use is Trident Pure Silicone Grease which is used by divers to seal diving masks on their face. It is clean & easy to apply and it is water proof which helps extend the life of the syringes.
How long can real food blends be in a feeding bag with a pump? I see it says it only lasts 2 hours once open but a feeding regimen is often 6-8 hours. Is it different for once in a sealed feeding bag?

My daughter has been exclusively tube fed for 21 years. After 16 years of cooking, blending, and straining food for her every single day, I’m so glad to turn over the work to RFB. I trust the quality and nutrition and she’s been beautifully healthy and happy with three RFBs every day for the last 5 years!
So typically using food Blends how long does it take for someone to gain weight because right now my father whose 92 we just give him jevity drinks that have nutrition about 355 calories so we can learn about six a day that's almost 2,000 calories but I'd like to give him some kind of food I want his wife to come back will that work please let me know and how the easiest way to do it like we just order it put in a blender then put it through his to feed thanks
My mom had PEG attached to her stomach when she kept on vomiting til she got malnourished. She's been bedridden for 3 years and after giving her formula for some time with no improvement, and often has constipation, we met a bio-nutritionist. He gave the following food to be blenderized: Rolled Oats, raw Cardava banana(triploid hybrid banana cultivar- to be added to the oats when the heat is turned off), cabbage and pure goat's milk. My mom is stronger and now doesn't sleep that much anymore. No more constipation. She already interacts with the people around her. Now we add Extra Virgin Olive oil and things are turning out well. She doesn't vomit anymore. We hope for the best.
One should come with your button kit. I have to change my childs button every 3 months, so our DME send us a new kit every 3 months. Ask your DME to send you a new kit.
I’m starting my daughter today on these feeds. Praying all goes well and she gains her weight back. She down from 168/170 lbs to 157. Lord please let this be the blessing we need! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Thank you for this great information - my husband has been using your meals for the past few months and they have really made a difference.
