@@g3n3sis50 there are a few ways to do it. First would be to use F8 to mute the engine so that it does not make noise while running. If you don’t want sound at all find the volume CV and set it to 0.
idk whats with mine mines the same thing the daylight train but there is a white outline on the wheels everytime i see a n scale daylight its just black wheel no outline wheels is mine rare?
hello , just came across your review. I have been looking into these Evemodel recently, I was hopping to find one on Ho scale but your review was great to watch. They do have a good range of rolling stock that is getting larger and at a great affordable price and reasonable detail. Not as high quality as Rapido or ScaleTrains, but it is satisfactory for making a manifest to pull. Really at the end of the day if it is a train going around the layout, nobody is really going to be getting the opportunity to see or catch a carriage with the jaw dropping detail. So why spend $180. on one carriage when you can get a set of 3 cars for $128. this does work out to be a money saver and great aesthetic on a passing train. Great review. Hi Tom! I’m happy you like the model! It took a long time to make. Unfortunately I do not do commission work, as I find that the cost and time to me printing and painting the model would make the price to high for you. For that reason, I sell the 3D print files for you and my other viewers to print yourselves at a much lower cost. If you need someone to 3d print the car, there are many services available to you online that will print the car for you for a fee. I only ask that if you do use this method, that you do not sell printed version of my cars as they are my property. Cheers! -Jay
I believe some retailers may sell it with a speaker. However, it will not come with any sound files installed. I purchased this version because the seller (Tony’s trains) installed the Gs4 sound files on the decoder. His decoders do not come with speakers. If you have a Loksound programmer then you can buy a blank decoder with a speaker and add them yourself. Otherwise you’re stuck with having to buy the decoder and speaker separately. Hope this helps!
No. As mentioned I had to purchase a separate sugar cube speaker and solder it to the decoder. It’s quite simple to do and it is the only thing needed in the instal that needs soldering. The speaker came with the wire attached. Just had to attach the wires to the decoder.
I have a question, does your 4449 operate weirdly when you first opened the box and used it? Mine seems like it’s struggling to operate through curves when I operate the engine slowly, not too problematic on straight tracks.
What size curves do you use? I find that the locomotive will “slow down” on tight curves. Back in the day I had 9.75” radius curves and the gs4 would slow through them. When I updated the layout (and built my new one) I went up to a minimum of 15 radius. At that point the loco had no issue or hesitation on the curves.
Don’t try to buy it off eBay. Try to find an online retailer. People have been scalping the heck out of these sets on the auction sites. Should only be around $200 usd. Highly recommend you get it though! It’s super fun!

This. Vid is a Lot better than the one I saw, last week. This shows the whole train, Engine to Caboose, where the other, ended before you got to the end of the train. IT was definitely a 'Short'. Keep it up, doing great! (My Con Cor , 'Veranda' Turbine, got 'Disappeared', in a Break-in, last year, along with other trains, wish some co., would do a re-issue ! Police were as useful as a Toilet- paper, Bomb Shelter.)

This is probably the best video review I’ve seen of this set. You sold me. I was hesitant to buy this until I saw your demonstration of how the articulated cars bend (I have always disliked Kato’s articulated cars, especially on the European trains like the Eurostar and the Lyria - both of which I purchased but then sold.) I plan to use two now out-of-production Kato SP E8 diesels in the Coast Daylight livery to pull the consist, rather than the steam loco - which I also dislike - because the many small parts tend to loosen and fall off as the loco ages.
Had a test track that ended up shorting out the tsunami 1 (not 2) decoder in my Red SF model. That was several years ago. Heard they have tsunami 2 now so I went ahead and purchased one. Can't wait to get it in the mail.

Very true! They are everywhere once you get near the mojave! However, for the sake of this video, it was easier to say that they are from the national park since the diorama was based on a scene from there.
