Can we buy the CFR version of the Monk Manual (and other products) in the UK at all? (to save on shipping fees and purchase in £ as opposed to USD) Maybe from Bradford?
Please keep me in your prayers, My name is (Raphael) Jonathan Tan. I'm a Chinese, from Malaysia, born with a rare, severe dry skin disease called Ichthyosis, since birth (1996) now 28 years (2024), covered from head to toe, not one part is spared. Ichthyosis is a rare skin disorder that affects the skin regeneration cycle. My skin metabolism regenerates and change skin cells too quickly, instead of every 28 days like a normal person, I change / shed and regenerates every 1-2 days. The accumulated dead skin cells causes dryness, thickness of the skin layer and blocking moisture from entering and exiting my skin, which disables me to perspire and regulate body temperature correctly because of blocked pores. I'm often inflamed, red and hot on my complexion. Cracks and peelings is my daily. Pain, suffering and embarrassment has never left me since I've been alive, Not even a day of having a normal skin. I'm a 2nd gen Christian. Attends church regularly, sunday schools, youth...etc I've been to multiple healing services, rallies, conferences. Prayed for, laid hands and anointed oil by many pastors, elders, evangelists, apostles and have travelled near and far to find cure, regardless of spiritual, natural or medical ways. Have spent a fortune on medical and natural remedies only to no avail. Please pray that my skin's basic function will return to its default settings and that my skin metabolism will revert to its original regeneration cycle, 28 days instead of every 2 days. and for my pores to be unblocked and allow perspiration to occur. Whatever the cause is, whether its Genetics, Medical complication or Spiritual Attack, God is Greater than ALL of these. Please pray for me and with me. Thank you and God Bless.
Peace, Friars. I have been subscribed to Spirit Juice for months. I notice a distressing pattern of Fr. Mark Mary being very rude to Fr. Pierre-Toussaint. It happens week after week, no matter how many times these offenses are forgiven. I pray for more Dominican friars like St. Peter Claver, who fought against the slavery and skin-discrimination of the world. May God raise more diverse, and better, vocations.
Hi Emily, I haven’t watched the full video yet but I have seen others. You might be misinterpreting a fraternal aspect of the brothers’ dynamic. There’s probably nothing to worry about ❤
It’s brotherly affection and teasing, common in men. They all do it. I would not read anything negative into it. Doing so, I believe, is unfair to both Father Mark-Mary and Father PT.
That’s pretty tough to accuse Father Mark Mary of racial prejudice. Rather than commenting your views on here, do you think it would’ve been more prudent to contact either of them via more private manner?
I’m grateful I chanced upon this podcast. Having received a no from a religious order a few days ago and told to explore other communities, things are still fresh and trying to navigate the confusion and hurt I feel. But I trust the lord has a beautiful plan for me. Thank you fathers for putting this up when there is little resource on navigating this.
I write some of your closing prayers and keep them. And blessed so often with a rush and wonder through me in the context of what is happening in the context of my life. Separate from the theme of the podcast. Thank you! ❤
These agencies have good people who work for them, but they also have a lot of bad people who work for them too. It's employees who don't like telling you about funding and other resources because they keep the resources for the people whom they know, themselves and etc. I worked for a similar agency in the past, and I was in a situation where I needed help as well, and my case worker basically lied to me about resources. Everyone who smiles isn't friendly and doesn't want to help you. That's something I realized with time.
Love it! The promised land. Seeing all the goodness of God in the land of the living new each day or Hour. Today means to me the phil 3:14 reaching forward to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus is to newly see… GOD calling us to look at Him. He is always calling. The call is New all the time. To see His way of repeating His love in all the sacraments. Like Father said. Jesus continually offering His sufferings. Mary showing us how to receive the eucharist for Him to be born in us. And carried to visitations ❤️
Fr. Innocent nails it when he describes fasting as a way to retrain and rehearse the practice of denying our own desires. Thank you Frs. for sharing your wisdom. Thank you Spirit Juice, in Christ's love ❤
How beautiful and touching hearing your expressions of profound appreciation, honor and wonder at being a Priest. As a lay person I sit in wonder at what happens in front of me during Mass. Thank you each for your saying yes to God over and over and over again.
No, not ALL of us. Just religious people have that "need," which is more of a want. Not everyone follows silly rules from an ancient book written by goat herders.
