This does not tell anything about how Midsommar has historically been celebrated. There's so much more to it than dancing and singing "little frogs" even though it's funny, it's not part of the tradition's origin.
Glad midsommar alla! The midsummerpole is really a celebration of life, ancestors and death at the longest day of the year... It´s a tree upsidedown. The beaker/battle-axe culture believed that the realm of death was at the world tree´s roots..Like in norse mythology... They in fact found a 4000 year cultic old tree deep in the sand in Norfolk, aka known as Treehenge...
Why are both countries PSAs in English? Are these aimed at Americans? Because if they are, smart move! I can assure you that we don´t know the difference.
Ribersborg Kallbadhuset is awesome! I only lasted 30 seconds in the cold water (in early May) but at least I gave it a try... but I don't think I'd manage the water temperature in January, February!
