The road 5’s on my MT09 SP felt terrible. No feedback, felt like a knobby tire on transition. Not confidence inspiring at all. Throwing them away to go back to the S22’s.
Nice bike! I almost bought one, but got a Ducati V4 Pikes Peak instead. It came with Pirelli Rosso Corsa IV tires and they wore out at 4500 miles. I decided to go with the Road 6 tires and holy cow, do they ride SMOOTH!!! Makes my bike 20% better to ride! For me, the dry traction is also a 10 as I ride hard in the canyons every weekend. The Pirelli's have a very stiff sidewall and come with not much tread on them, so the Road 6 is a FAR SUPERIOR tire overall.
I’m genuinely surprised on the mileage, ,my previous bike (V Strom 1000) only managed around 5k on the rears that was on 5’s so maybe the 6’s have improved? Everything else yup I agree great tyre, sadly not available (size) for my current ride Tiger 1200.
@@PureEvolution Ah my Tiger 1200 is the GT Pro so only a 19” front 18” rear it’s 100% road focused so I’m looking at Dunlop Roadsmart 4’s to replace the appalling OEM tyres
Just getting 4,000 miles on my Suzuki Bking and the Metal bands are showing. I'm either riding too hard or these are not anywhere near the longevity that was claimed.
I have been to Luxembourg in 1999.a quarter of a century ago.... such a lovely city...probably the most relaxed🤩. Thanks for sharing this. New fan from Bangalore, stay in touch
Should be the go to tyre for anyone for normal road riding. They amazing for mileage. But some just want the slick look.... so their mates dont take the piss.
I’ve honestly no idea how you can get that many miles out of the tyre..I know it’s all about the bike, riding style etc but after having metzler 01 se on my bike (ninja 1000sx) and only getting 3,000 miles out of them when a lot said they would do 8,000 I decided to get Michelin road 6..I’ve got to say there an amazing tyre and I’ve had no issues,I can give it stick on the twisties and never had them let go.i mainly do A road and B road riding but a few motorway miles aswell but I’ve never had a rear last over 5,000 miles and I only got 7,000 out of the front..lasted better than the metzler so I’m sticking with the road 6 but I wish I could get that many miles out of them..just put a new pair on 4 days ago so I’ll see how these go,they better last me the year
If I think correct the ninja sx is about 230 ish kg so you might find that your chewing up tyres more as you need the GT versions that are better suited for heavier bikes also you rip.rear tyres up no.matter what if your TCS is off or on very low settings on sum bikes with that kinda power maybe try some next time round and let me know how you go would he very interested in the mileage differance
Hmm, I put a set of these on my KTM 1090 and had a different experience, could be the weight of the adventure bike though, squared off and done within 3k miles, no tread at all.
Yea i ripped mine up to the wear bar only and didnt help as for a bit of a test i turned TCS off see waht the wear would be like and wow it went fast then turned it back onto 1 and got little more out of tyre so guess its how much power it puts to the wheel at times of load maybe and yea GT version would of been better for that bike
Same here. Flat middle and now, metal bands showing. 4K miles on my 08 Suzuki Bking, 585lb, 104ft lb torque. I'm guessing my heavy torque bike is too much for these tires.
@@matthewtrinh4872 yea most tyres wont stand to that kind of drag strip type ripping with that kinda weight defo need the GT versions and do you ride with TCS off by chance
Thing is, I got the GT version due to the weight of my bike. I have a raw(no electronic riding aid) bike. I do admit I take off hard every now and then.
@@PureEvolution That makes sense. I was hoping for a lot more longevity with Road 6's over stock but I really only got a few more thousand Km's before squaring off. Still an improvement and no noticeable loss of grip on the road.
@@hiddendragon415 yea 7k out of a sports touring tyre aint bad really as i am sure a s22 dont last very long with the riding you do as i was getting maybe 3k out of a rear
I’m curious how much I’d get out of a set of these? I have around 10k miles on my rear tire of s22’s. The OEM s22 barely made it 3k miles and I almost didn’t go with them for replacement but for the price I figured it’s worth a shot. For how much I’m on the highway and doing wheelies. I’m actually shocked at how well they held up. So maybe 15k or more on the road 6?
Very timely video for me, thank you. About to pull the trigger on getting a set of Road 6 to replace the current Pirelli Angel GT2 set on my Kawasaki Z1000SX. There's a good promotion on them at the moment, so hopefully I'll get quite a bit of change from the £400 that you paid. I like value, me...
Even better value for sure then and got 2 guys in the group with z1000sx that run the road 6 also so defo works nice with that bike for sure, there getting about the same milage too
@@PureEvolution Thanks for the response. I got 10k miles from my Pirelli Angel GT2 (check out my views on that on my channel) and they still have just under 2mm of tread so normally I'd push then a bit longer. However, I'm getting ready for a trip to Scotland in June so new rubber is needed now.
@@NooBiker nice i am heading up that way end of August and yea i had a little left on the rear too most likly use little more before i change it let me know what you think between the 2 would be interesting as my brother used to love the angel GT tyres
@@PureEvolution the Angel GT2 is very good, pliable, comfortable and excellent in the rain and dry. Even had fun on a track based skills day. Nice even wear, did not square up, but I feel it lost a little bit of confidence in the wet towards the end (past 8-9k miles)
Got them on my gsxr 1100 slab side done 10500 miles! still good and they stick Love them Guessing your getting a BMW s1000rr older model got one they are mental 😊
I have three motorcycles 2001 Honda Shadow Ace750. And I run Dunlop 404, 2004 Honda ST1300 sport tour, and I run Bridgestone t32, and 2003 Suzuki GSXR 600, and I run the new pilot6' on it, and they are awesome
i normal run when i was touring around 35psi front and back seemed a nice medium and just never change them all tho my machanic noticed my front was little low at 26psi but not been out on bike much since winter times
Very nice video. You two appear to have a great time except for the little crash. I hope he's fully OK now. Spanish roads and scenery are amazing. A group of buddies and I from all over the US booked a private 7-day tour through Edelweiss, which provided the bikes, guide, hotel accommodations, routes, etc. We just needed to show up and ride. We did what is called the Pyrenees Extreme, which has more technical riding, longer days, and less support than their regular Pyrenees tour. It demands more pace and technical ability. We’re planning another tour and are considering the Picos de Europa area. How would you compare the Picos to the Pyrenees? Here’s the video of our Day 1. I have the others posted as well. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H-L4gWaId7s.html
Its a very close to compair really i think you could spend more days in the Pyrenees and still not do it all i see you did bit of the road we did around the Monsterrat such a nice area and view are amazing you cant go wrong, Andorra is a must and if you have any off road skill and are able to do this kinda tour then the off road Trails or ACT is amazing around Andorra and across the Pyrenees thanks for watching
I was waiting to see the, "it's a sport bike, it's supposed to be quick and nimble, who cares about fuel economy" comment. it always makes me laugh. Yeah, it is a pretty important factor some people, especially to the guy who's trying to justify buying one to his wife lol
Yea total lol. I tour on mine this was the main reason i wanted to know as it seemed i was getting pretty good distance out of a tank compaired to friends i was riding with. little did i know i could get this many
Have you practiced high speed braking it’s part of bike safe higher speed training I did mine at Caldwell park 100 mph on the straight.just saying if the trailer was fully across the road could you have stopped! Any way good reactions in getting around .the reason I’m commenting is my brother was taken out by a farmer turning across the flow of traffic .his trailer s x2 had no indication fitted ,! Ride safe this year 2024👍
Thank you for the comment and sorry to hear that about your borther. I do try to practices hard braking from time to time and i did have time to fully stop reason i didnt was for a few reasons i did have a few bikers behind me as wasnt quite sure how close they was to me at that very momment so stopping so fast, I chose to take the exit around the tractor and used my comms to warn the bikers behind me one being my brother and good friend. I did use a little back brake to keep the bike balanced like you do when your doing high speed braking its amazing on how much it helps might make a video on this as i am sure other dont do this thanks again ride safe
Great video would like to see what it would do on a range test on the motorway on cruise control as my fz1n always done an extra 40 miles on my trips down too Portsmouth from west mids. Ps nice bike choice 👌 I'm upgrading soon but can't decide on mt10 sp or 09
YEa its a hard choice depending what your wanting for the bike the mt09 is way more fun and nimble but the mt10 has some great power but is alot nice in the twistys as front end is planted very nice, mt09 is a hard bike to get setup nice so you can ride hard in the corners without it getting twitchy at the front hope that helps let me know what you get
Ha ha lol thats like me and my mates going for a blast the coms are grest hay we got Sena 5 of us brilliant having a laugh and a chat while riding. Just sold my R1 2008 and buying a 2023 MT09 SP in January cant wait 😊
The camera doesnt come close to how it looks up there its a must see if your in the area for sure glad you liked the video and thank you for your comment
