@@petarst Hey, as far as dosing, I use Kalk for all my topoff water 5 gallons a day. Rest I have a calcium reactor. I do send ICP in, but it's become more of a pain in the butt. Always something low. 🙄
This is the og holy grail. It has a green base which fades into yellow tentacles with blue tips. I know someone who has one of the biggest collections of them and hes has the first one sold by a specific company... im forgetting the name, but this it. Everything after are just different variations.
Yea, I believe you are correct. I have a mother colony with about 20 polyps/heads. But I cannot keep up with all the names of everything anymore. 😕 😪. Lol
@steevareno2002 I honestly would never use any chemicals, in my 27 years I never did and never will. Chemi-clean will kill some of your good bacteria, too. I am not willing to test it.
Looks amazing my man. I love a good mixed reef. Love the Zoas on what I'm guessing is a pipe or overflow? Really cool idea. I may steal that once I get my bigger tank. Been back in the hobby for 6 months (since the 90's) and quickly filled up a 75...which I thought was HUGE at the time I bought it. Now to convince the wife she needs a 300 gallon tank in the living room. Lol keep up the amazing work.
Well, I really appreciate that. I do not do large water changes at all. I do daily water changes, well, rather a continuous water change 24/7 set to change 8 gallons a day. I use 2 Ecotech Versa's.
I had it only one time. It was about a month after I transferred from my 210 gal to this new setup. I expected it, I also had dynos. I have learned the best way of keeping cyano at bay is 1.) Lots of flow! 2.) A nice clean-up crew. I tell everyone to keep at least 1 to 2 per gallon. I have 600-gallon, so I keep about 1200 little guys. I had just added 1,000 blue leg hermits a few months ago. There is a short video I made of it. As far as the snails, I use Trochus snails. They are more expensive, but if they fall, they can right themselves back. And they can also breed in the aquarium so you won't have to buy more. I also mixed in cerith snails. They hide in the sand and come out at night to eat any fish waste. Any other questions, I am happy to help.
@billssaltwaterheaven do hermits eat algea besides waste? My cuc always dying over time, so I stopped buying them, and I had some hermits too, but I think they were deleting my snails, so I got rid of them.
@@billssaltwaterheaven I haven't in over a month but I'm going to start up again soon. This time of the year is so busy for me with family. I coach my daughters softball team and my son is in baseball while. While there also being gymnastics and boy scouts. No time.
My friend i have a tank thats 6 months old. I just installed lights and bought a few corals about a month ago but now theirs some red spots on the top of the rocks and starting to spread on sandbed. Any thoughts on this ?
@@billssaltwaterheaven ok thank you so much. Also, i bought a birdsnest coral and the rips from one day to the next look white and as if it was ripping. Is this growth or does it need more light ? 🤔
Yes, it does scratch very easily. I use the Mag-float made for acrylic with a sleeve for the inside and outside magnets made by SeeClear that I purchased from Unique corals.
