I tend to Meander and to Wander. What I seek are the quiet forgotten spots. The places where time and nature attempt to stand still. The lonely places they call me, for I am never lonely. Silence and solitude they speak volumes to me. I love the forested mountains and they comfort my soul. Join me if you wish.

Bro, you didn't tell you had a RU-vid channel. Good on you, brother. Hi Shilo and Zaira (I'm sure I spelled her name wrong) -RUSS-

@user-mu7xj7rv9w It originally started so my mom could see what I was up to. Then I just kept filming for folks to watch. I kind of think of the videos as my diary to rewatch when I am too old to play.

Fair enough, Thank you. It's always kind of a guess as I wander around and go by the spelling on signs. Some of the areas and rivers in Washington still leave me tongue twisted even after decades living here 😆 Thanks for watching

Beautiful desert scenery and wild flowers. Good time of the year to visit is when the flowers are in bloom. Anyway, thanks for making the video.

Depressing. You should have seen that country in the 1950s-60's before they ruined it. Before they build the Howard Hanson Dam. Back when Japanese Truck Farms, and miles of strawberries and raspberries covered the Green River Valley all the way to Tukwila. When we caught 12-15 thousand Winter Steelhead every winter. Depressing what has happened to that area. All you have is a tiny little piece left. Depressing.

It would have been a beautiful era to visit. I enjoy finding the traces of history, but it is sad how little of it gets preserved. Given, nature takes things back pretty rapidly in the NW. Thank you for watching and sharing your knowledge. I am going to have to spend some time digging through photo archives to see it's past glory.

Thanks for being honest. My great grandparents settled here in the 1800's. My adult kids, all in their 40's now are 6th generation. I'm 71. I was born in the old hospital that was across the street. Same place as the one there now. This used to be such a quiet little place but so many people have moved here that it's nothing like it used to be. But I still live here as does one of my brothers and numerous cousins. The generation before me (my parent, aunts and uncles) are all gone now. I miss my grandparents. The 50's and 60's here were awesome! Glad you had a good time. Thanks!

I am glad you enjoyed, I have always loved visiting Port Townsend. I first started visiting for work about 20 years ago. Things have changed quite a bit in just that short time. Thank you for sharing your history. I always enjoy learning more about the history of the places and people I encounter on my wanders.

Right on man. I enjoy your videos. Especially the Idaho/Wyoming adventure. Keep doing what you do! Do you still have that decked out Explorer?
@TheForgottenPathOverland
@TheForgottenPathOverland 2 года назад
Thanks for watching! I ended up trading the Explorer in on the Jeep a few years back. It had nearly 200k miles of getting beat up offroad and I just couldn't keep up on maintenance anymore. Miss that truck even if the Jeep is far more capable.

Good quality video. Interestingly you do the walking the trail shots with your jeep, I don't think I've seen anyone do that before. I'm planning on camping at Barclay this month and will post a video on my channel, Amputee Outdoors. Subscribed.

Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed. I figure the trail is the journey whether the jeep is doing the work or my feet are 🤣. Stay warm camping up there this time of year. Snow line along the Skykomish drainage was around 1500 feet 10 days ago when I was up last.
