I've just watched highlights of Napoli V AC Milan, must have been around 1988/89 I would estimate. 3-0 to Napoli with Diego scoring with 2 assists. This was the age of the remarkable Milan team of Van bastan,Gullit and Rijkaaard lest we forget. The great man was kicked all throughout the game. In today's changed environment,Rijkaaard would have been sent off at least 3 times . Hacked down every time . BUT,He just kept getting up and never stopped wanting the ball .Hard to compare eras, but if he'd been playing today on far superior pitches and the more protection he'd get from referee's he'd have been even more of a phenomenon. Messi,a great player,no question of that. And probably closest to him in his overall skillset+ability. But,he would have really struggled to match the impact maradona had in the 80s. He dominated the 1986 world cup from start to finish. He was THE story.
Un grande giocatore senz'ombra di dubbio, però con una differenza che se Maradona come gli dicono era di un altro pianeta Pelè al contrario possiamo dire che era di un altro universo, il migliore in assoluto, era completo, anzi di più, un Dio del calcio.
A great player without a shadow of a doubt, but with one difference: if Maradona, as they say, was from another planet, Pelé, on the contrary, we can say that he was from another universe, the best ever, he was complete, indeed more, a God of football.
A very genius, potentially a very high caliber talent ever born in this planet size doesn’t matter that He proved while playing a real football in every matches and world cups, actually a person born to play football in the history of great legendary footballer ! Diego Maradona this great Argentine player who is my all time favorite player ! He is an honestly to say an actual architect/ self propelled artist with multi skills of this sports for this century ! He will always be remembered in millions millions Hearts and souls forever that’s for sure. Obviously the young generation in this sports will have to follow this legendary player left footstep legacy ( means a good thing can be copied no harm on it) especially in order to polish their skills while being into the path of professional footballer which can of course bring them their names fame and tons of money in their life time while giving their fans maximum pleasure and satisfaction watching this game ! My sincere love and utmost respect to this legendary footballer an architect of this great sports long live Sir Diego Maradona !
The Ballon d'Or at that time was decided through the calendar year so the clips are from the 2nd half of the 05/06 season (Juventus) and the 1st half of the 06/07 season (Real Madrid) and obviously the 2006 World Cup.
A player of a superior level, undoubetely. Class, class, class; is that enough? Think so! Just his too much fragile muscles stopped him from becoming a legend. This is what I do think about Douglas Costa
Finally a good Veron Comp. Thankou you man! And If you are accepting requests you should also do one for Scheweinsteiger, There are no good videos of him on youtube
The difference between Maradona and Messi is that Messi's skills rely heavily on dribbling. But Maradona is diverse in skills and has his own magic in what he does... Therefore, my personal opinion is that Maradona's football talent is relatively superior to Messi's. By this I do not mean to underestimate Messi, as he is one of the greatest dribblers in history and his football career is the most successful of all time...
