50 years ago I went to a County Fair in the State of Maine, USA. There I witnessed a small boy leading a team of 2 Ayrshire Oxen under yoke. They were huge, tame, and beautiful. I have never forgotten that moment.
Can you make videos where you show closer about medieval plows, wagon and other agricultural tools in detail, or are they documented somewhere? Thank you.
Meine Erfahrung!
For small farms, working animals can reduce costs, especially oxen, donkeys, and mules. They don't eat much, are less prone to disease, and are less likely to have "mechanical failures." . . For those who need to work in mountainous areas where mechanical transportation is inconvenient, pack animals are still a great boon. The U.S. military also had to rely on donkeys and mules for supplies when fighting in the mountains of Afghanistan, while Chinese border guards in the Himala Mountains were full of affection for yaks, because machinery did not work in these places. These animals make great companions for backcountry hikers.
Thanks for sharing this thought provoking video. I would like to see more innovative solutions for the small scale horse powered farmer in the USA. You show well thought out and beautifully manufactured equipment for a single or team of horses. I would also like to see more studies about the environmental benefits of using draft animal power and how it can be scaled to replace more fossil fuel power.
I have just begun working with a team and am very interested in any information that I can gather to make my team better. Thank you for the informative video!
This was a very informative video that inspires me all the further to pursue a dream of raising a team. Thank you very much for posting, and Mr. Conroy for your presentation
