I was crossing coming westbound into St Louis crossing The Mississippi on i70/55/64 in my big rig and i had just hooked up xm/sirius that afternoon. Circa 2001.I had the folk station on and this song came on and ive never looked back.He is my favorite and everything he does is stellar.Incredible writer and great imagery in his tunes.The well never runs dry. Next day i heard Main Street and thats all she wrote as i knew my discovery was golden.
The Original Drifters are the remnants of Bill Pinckney’s group he started in the 50s. Bill himself died in 2007 at 82 and is widely thought to be the last original Drifter.

This Yeoman guide was thankfully fired in late 2019 for all of his hateful, ageist, homophobic, misogynistic & militaristic xenophobic rhetoric that he proudly & with the intention to corrupt all within earshot, did loudly proclaim every time he had an audience he thought sufficiently large enough. Thankfully, in recent years just prior to the "outbreak", people gained the courage to be offended by everything (especially when they know that something was said in jest) & to go out of their way to ensure that as many people as possible know just how offended they were by....whatever. Mercifully, corporations decided to listen to these (largely physically unattractive and until now-never listened to) extremely opinion ready internet gurus rather than the people who actually pay their wages-the paying customer, & bravely publicly aligned themselves with the blue haired whales & grey skinned vegans in all their marketing & new products. I, for one, couldn't be happier that we now be arrested for opinions, expressions & anything that the government deems "unacceptable views" that go against the glorious "new speak" that author of "1984" Aldous Huxley so enthusiastically wrote of! Thank goodness this man who selflessly served his country for over 2 decades would not be permitted to say such things today!
