If you are brewing gong fu cha with gaiwan, gaiwan should heat up with hot water first, once add tea leaves you should rinse the leaves. You can brew multiple infusions. Steeping tea leaves for a minute is quite long. 😊
For a quick version that at best only comes close I recommend using a black tea blend that is heavily assam forward such as East Frisian Tea and to steep that in half the cup’s volume of fresh off the boil water for at least 5 minutes, then fill up with milk. Add sweetener. It’s not as awesome as the proper version but it manages to scratch the quick itch…
Can You tell how long to brew the oolong? I always used to think that it was for 1 minute and next sessions longer for 30s to 1 minute. Is the 5 minutes brewing only for tea tasting?
