This is the most in depth restoration I've ever seen! You just saved me from a horrible botch job on this same model. Someone messed the ground up and ruined everything. The schematic I'm using is the same as yours and it kills me that Philco didn't mark the polarity on the electrolytics. Thus I'm glad I found this video. Thanks.
8:24 You're right about repair and the difficulties with them. I taught myself 2 years ago how to do this stuff via the internet and now I repair radios for my friends and family. I have a fully going workshop and an amazing collection of restored sets... How did I come across this video? I found an abandoned 630B with a botch job, and I can use videos like these as references. Thanks for uploading.
@@joernone I am sorry, I am 83 and not very familiar with internet etiquette my name is Robert Hartis. I also thought My name would be added automatically
After a week of dealing with "dis-ease", creeping crud, and mucus production gone wild, a bowl of that chili would really be good. Extra hot chili powder would help clear up the sinuses, too! Thanks, John! I wish I could drive down for a bowl! Frank
Don't dirty hands add to the flavor? In New Orleans we have a famous hole in the wall Italian joint that sells Po-boys as well. The old ladies were known for carrying the loaves around tucked under the arms and the joke was that's what gave the sandwiches that great flavor.
Try some Italian meat sauce with Italian sausage instead of traditional ground meat. Partanna is an very high quality EVOO for a reasonable price,(in my opinion) $35 for 1 liter can.
John, that look delicious.. You did make this 10 years ago in MishMash #69. I can smell it from here :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9E3hur3c7pw.htmlsi=xEo0pCQdh7K69wvO
Hello John. That sure looks good. Carole and I just made white chilli with chicken yesterday with the cannellini beans. Turned out good. Unfortunately, one of us has an intolerance to onions. Was still ok without 'em. We enjoy your "Cooking shows". George B
I have the same record player, and mine is black with a later record changer, and mine is from early 1975, and it was one of the last of the GE Wildcat record players.
Hi John, I too enjoy walking round historical themed attractions: Dragonstone sounds wonderful. Tomato and basil soup is definitely delicious. My late paternal grandma occasionally prepared beef sausage (and meatballs sometimes) with onions, tomatoes, and basil. I’m not a huge sausage, or Swedish style meatballs fan but gran’s sausage, and meatballs tasted superb. Love the chefs hat: certainly contributes a je ne sais quoi. Regards, PB.
Didn't I see you on a can of Chef Boyardee in your younger days? Or possibly you're Claude Monet without the beard? At any rate that's quite the hat you're sporting 'ol bean! Now you know what goes great with a bowl of tomato basil soup? A nice grilled cheese sandwich! Try that sometime. They go together like bacon and eggs. Delicious! Greg (edit: I heard you mention at the end about whipping up a grilled cheese sandwich...great minds!)
Ron, I've frozen three bowls of it for when the temps drop and still have one bowl of frozen chicken soup left. I'm somewhat ready for the arrival of old man winter. Regards, John
Yep I know exactly how it is I had to redo my yard and had not much time for you tube. And have only cleaned the rear end on the m37. Great work. Thanks for the video.
Larry, I have too many trees around my 2-acre yard, big suckers, and every time the wind blows I'm picking up heaps of small limbs that need to be burned. It can get very tiring. But such is life in the country living fast lane, my friend. I'd go nuts living in a housing development or apartment. Regards, John
Mike, Good for you, my friend. I really do want to get back to the T-Bird, but I still have many things to complete around the house and yard, and subscribers have been hammering on me to do more radio and cooking videos. Ya can't win at this YT game. 😂 Regards, John
Out of curiosity what are you going to do about refrigerant for the AC on that car since they probably don't make or sell the refrigerant that car's AC used anymore . (Michael)
Awesome! So glad to see you on the tbird! I have not watched it yet, but I did turn it on for a few seconds and it gave me more motivation to get my winter chores done.
That's right, my friend, chop-chop on those chores. Why should I be the only perpetually exhausted guy who looks like death warmed over?😂 Regards, John
@@joernone Always a pleasure to watch your videos and I appreciate your responding to my comments. The wife has been in the hospital for 3 weeks. Prior to that 2 weeks in May so I have my work cut out for me. Hoping for a better and brighter 2025.
John, I love how no one has to tell you to "keep busy"! You love all your projects even though they can be taxing. Enjoy all of them for the satisfaction they bring. Hard work and keeping your nose to the wheel keeps you young! Frank
Hello John. I see you've been very busy. I like how you set up your racks. Just a suggestion, label your shelves, and write down the parts that are on those shelves. It will save you a lot of time finding things when you are reassembling the car.I also like how you rigged up those fittings to get the job done. George B
Thanks, my friend. I can't seem to stop staying busy. Brendan, my electronics mentor, and I have wondered what happend to the teenagers who would knock on your door and ask to earn some money doing chores/small jobs for us. I guess it would take too much time away from their cell phonea. Regards, John
Another quality test for olive oil is to pour a little in a small bowl and place in the refrigerator overnight. Better olive oil will solidify to the consistency of softened butter. Low quality olive oil remains liquid. Mangia!
Can a woman be trusted that sez that she is "" extra virgin""? Chicken cacciatore is great in the pot, must have wine in it. We like some fungus in it. Also like rice or vermaceli cooked exactly 21 minutes. Very few restaurants offer cheekin cacciatore, my fave beside rotissere cooked. That roo gravy is great with onion and garlic bits.
Hi John, loving the Thunderbird videos, I’m about 30 in so far. Just bought myself a 64 Thunderbird over here in England so about to go through a lot of the jobs you’ve already done. A little harder and more expensive over here getting the parts and I’ve just ordered a new gas tank that should be here this coming week. Might even try the old pipe and vinegar trick. Keep up the good work, Regards Col 👍
