Couple issues is the ladder access, hardware extra weight and if the cover is wet. That being said, it is about time someone tried something different.
Your personalizing it, the scene is showing the man wishing he had a retractable cover, nothing to do with woman vs man, perhaps it emphasizes it’s so easy even a woman could do it herself which is actually stereotyping women as weak and feeble “even a woman can do it” but hey perhaps more women own pontoon boats and they are advertising to women that may not be in tip top shape or how about a older woman with grey hair , a grandma can even cover the boat. You can play this out in many directions.
I got a problem with the whole woman making a man look foolish, inadequate, inferior to woman. From movies and commercials. No I don’t think of me or a reflection of me but definitely something that bothers me when I know my kids and eventually future generations will be affected by this. No thank you!
Sure, what i want is a giant crank and crossbar installed on the back of my boat right by the ladder....no thanks, I'll continue to put my cover on in 3 minutes.
