I like the Capital Corridor and San Joaquin for two reasons, one: I love there livery. It looks awesome with the black over the windows and the blue and yellow on the bottom. Two: They have a 50/50 chance of have and EMD F59PHI as power. I love those locomotives and they’ve been completely replaced on the Surfliner back in 2018. They look amazing paired with those Cali cars. I did get to see one for the first time in a really long time 2 weeks ago when I was traveling through Bakersfield. CDTX 2004 was power on the San Joaquin #702 so it was quite nice to see one.
I saw this in Kansas City MO the other day when I was doing some flight instruction, and was curious about what it was, and after I landed I went to drive over to where I saw it, but by the time I had gotten there it was gone. so at least now I know!
Awesome video! This was the first time we saw footage regarding the tree incident. My son and I spent almost a week with our Big Boy! We stayed the night in Colfax to witness the engine start from a stopped position. It didn't happen, but you caught the excitement my son had when the train passed through Colfax! Thank you, for being so polite when you found a position to film (in Colfax), yet not block anyone's field of vision!
Congratulations to Californians for having the latest electrified railway network in the USA after decades of railway upgrade frozen. The Stadler electric train seems more agile than the diesel-powered locomotive-hauled train.
