Thanks for posting. Wonderful how you open with a view of The Irish House. On our first visit to Castlebar in 1993, my wife and I had a few pints at the pub. We had a great night. We went back the following night, and the bartender ( Marty ) introduced us to my cousins!! We met Christopher and Seamus Cusak. What a thrill . A great city

I walked home from the dance hall 3 times back in the late seventies to just outside ballyhaunis what a silly you man i was . 6 hour walk

Ghost town. I lived a few miles outside back in the mid 1990s when the place was thriving and lively and a great place for a session.

I do sit in the Square sometimes and wonder what it would be like if all the People I grew up with hadn't all Emigrated, Castlebar will always be home

Wouldnt go if i was u.village idiots a plenty.extreamly small community with extreme small minds.all stair crazy stuck with each other making up wild fantasies about tourists and visitors.spoke to one guy and he and his family hadnt been on holiday for over 16 years .as i said they all stair crazy need to get out and see the world.we have travelled the world .many time but would never go back to this place full of weird people.talk about nosey never meet the like of it .deff like ryans daughter the film or father ted . beautiful scenery beautiful beaches but the community are off kilter .😂😂😅
