Those closing two scenes are very good. The lighting and tones of the colours are good palettes of late autumn late afternoon signatures. And the framing is just great.👍
Lovely scenes, good panning shots and well chosen locations. Some excellent still shots in there, too - the whistle is crisp and the "fluttery" one shows a firemans/drivers "hand" very nicely.

The diesel is required only if there is a mechanical problem with the steam loco. This has been a requirement for many years now. You'll probably find that the diesel is "free wheeling".
In suburban Melbourne, the banking loco is usually another steam loco. My concerns is the computerized systems won’t be able to allow a loco to run around and the points will have been removed anyway.
I started out thinking that the first couple of shots were a bit static and that pan and zoom would be more interesting. You then answered my view by doing just that. Great filming, thanks for posting this.
Having spent many very cold nights on the Mudgee Mail thence on to Craboon back in the days of steam I have no wish to travel back to that time. Good videoing regardless.
