I'm out and about Middle Tennessee, learning more about the history that happened in our communities and how those stories fit into larger state and national stories!
Its so challenging to love those folks... Allowed a hung man to hang, DEAD, IN THE SQUARE, AT THE COURT HOUSE... Nothing has changed here! The disdain remains!
I did not know this area had such a history with murder, genocide and racism. Seems not all blacks know about it. Now I understand why Jason Aldean made the retribution video at the sight of a lynching. A form of civil rights intimidation. He must be itchin to get a racial fight going. If you want peace, that man needs to put a sock in it.
STOP CALLING THIS A RACE RIOT... Government Troopers were killing and lynching black citizens and arresting hundreds as well as burning down black owned businesses ALL FOR BEING BLACK... THATS A GENOCIDE!
Three of the pastors involved: Rev. Calvin Lockridge, Rev. John Lockridge and Rev. Raymond Lockridge were my granduncles from Columbia, TN (my grandfather's brothers) 75 years later and this is the first time I have ever heard of this story.
Same here cuz! Raymond was my great grandfather. Visited my grandmother (his daughter) the other day and heard this story in full detail for the first time.
Oh I get it just a white version…. They didn’t shoot cops they shot at people trying to burn down this property then all hell broke lose & the cops called in the state Guards tell a story right 😡
What piss me off is the fact that they tried to jump the man after the white guy punch him first, then the victim get arrested, then the law knows they trying to hunt him & still dose nothing but till this day blk ppl are look at as criminals & trouble makers 😡
@Limboweechie, the radio he had just left for repair was sold in the store. That's what made him upset and it was basically a theft of his property. I'm waiting to hear the "set up" with the guns at the jail.
I was moved to NW Tennessee as a Child, Dads home area was Kenton, Onion and Gibson Counties run right through the town, use to be the Baptist Minister preached in Onion County to the Congregation in Gibson County. The town is famous for *"White Squirrels",* and they are prevalent. I will always have a special place in my thoughts for my memories there, as a child. But my heart will always hold that my home is Chicago. Memories there and I am a true Urban Preferred Dweller. As a Child I missed all the options of things to do, and I noticed the "feelings were different", (judgemental and prejudice here), although most aren't Conscious of it, and seem to hold to it as a Social expectation. Tragic sad to me and it feels so uncomfortable. But it seems to be less prevalent in Middle Tennessee. Oh I'm sure it exists, but the larger areas have less and Middle Tennessee is the most appealing area of the state to me, just gorgeous. I had a cousin that lived his entire life in Murfreesboro. He was a Pharmist, handsome, and so wonderful. I went to HS Band Camp at MTSU, 4 years, beautiful Campus. My degree is from University of Memphis 🐾 I should take a drive over there and enjoy the views. All the community/Country Stores are closed here, the affects of Wal-Mart, Lowes, Amazon ... its called "Corporatism" and replaced Capitalism. Pay attention Republicans, look at What your Party Elected Officials are actually supporting. It is our job to stay informed on matters that count, not be fosters in the nonsense of Mainstream News Medias, the are awful, Power, Manipulation, Profits, are their only goals. That degree I got: Journalism, Sociology, and H8story Be Happy, focus on the Solutions, not the issues. Best Wellbeing ....
Wonderful information. I"ve been in that cemetery a while ago, it was already late in the evening so I couldnt really check it. Is it a private property now? I'd love to visit and learn more about it and the town in general.
At 5:09 she meant to say Napoleon Direct ran a mile in less than TWO minutes. If you had a horse that ran a one minute mile you'd win the triple crown every year.
Thank u for being brave enough to talk about these issues we have in America not too many white ppl want to talk about it they rather sweep it under the rug and ignore it as if it will go away...we can't become over comers if we don't know what we r overcoming 🤷🏾♀️
Why do you assume White people want to sweep it under the rug? That's a broad statement ? It's accusing people whom you have no clue about of being racist. It's people with your attitude that keeps people divided. Of course it was terrible. If White people don't want to talk about it, it's because they're ASHAMED that this happened. F Y I - The Democrat party's KKK was 100% involved. The same party most Blacks support.. So before you start throwing out the race card, read your Democrat party's racist KKK history..
Stop calling the murder of anti-American man women and children just becouse of the collar of there skin as a race riot. This is a ethnic cleansing. Nothing more nothing less. Down dump in down by calling it a race riot. Only in America something as stupid as a race riot exits. The right turn is atnic cleansing
@@rodniestruiken1256 The only ethnic cleansing happening in America are the murder of 44 MILLION Black babies by the Democrat party who proposed, supported and voted for babies to be ripped out of their mother's wombs. So any African American who votes Democrat are responsible for this ethnic cleansing of Blacks. Without the Black vote, the Democrat party would become extinct and the next 44 MILLION babies would be given the life they deserve. Democrats use the Black vote to stay in power and maintain their sadistic, demonic murder of those helpless little developing humans. If you are a Democrat voter, you are responsible for those murders. And, as well, no Democrat supporter or voter can be a Christian. Supporting and/or being a part of a political party who murders God's little ones can't be pleasing in God's eyes. Murderers will not inherit God's Kingdom.
Awesome job again 👍, seems like each video is getting a little better every time, very informative, these small town local history lessons are pretty cool and the world needs more of them
