Good video. I agree that the most important thing is consistency. Being able to replicate your throw consistently is the first hurdle. Once you are consistently throwing the same every time then adjustments can more easily be made. About the only thing I don't agree with is the whole dominant eye thing. The brain and how it forms neural connections is a very interesting thing. On my annual eye exams, my right eye has better visual acuity but it is my left eye that is dominant. I am right handed. This leads to some interesting combinations. When I shoot guns or pool I always aim with my left eye...BUT, when I throw darts I aim with my right eye. I learned aiming with my right eye when I started throwing darts and now that is how my brain operates for darts, if I close my right eye/aim with left, my darts go all over the place, but closing my left eye/aim with right and the accuracy is back. Maybe I'm one of those odd 0.1% but I find that my dominant eye is not always the eye I use for aiming (or other critical focus tasks).
@DartsDecoded
@DartsDecoded 2 дня назад
That’s really interesting! It’s cool how the brain can adapt like that-everyone’s experience with aiming is so unique. Sounds like you’ve found a system that works perfectly for you, even if it breaks the 'rules' a bit. Consistency definitely comes first, and it’s great that you’ve figured out how to make those neural connections work for darts! 🎯 Thanks for sharing your experience, it’s always fascinating to hear different perspectives!

I would like to get darts made of tungsten material and they are for steel darts, but somehow they lie in my hand so that I control them and not those with me so that they don't slip or move at important moments. I have some phil taylor arrows made of brass material, but somehow they go from the thin part of the arrow to the thicker part and I think I have reached the max level with them that I can play with. I need some better arrows to improve the game and the control of the release itself. Otherwise, I don't have a fast ejection, I don't think it's that slow, something medium. What arrows would you advise me to buy and what weights? Thank you, best regards!
@DartsDecoded
@DartsDecoded 2 дня назад
Sounds like you're ready to level up your darts! 🎯 Tungsten darts are a great choice for better control and precision, especially if you’re looking to step up from brass. Tungsten offers a slimmer profile, which helps with grouping on the board. Since you mentioned having a medium-speed throw, We'd recommend starting with darts in the 22-24 gram range. Heavier darts can help with a more controlled release, and a straight barrel might suit your grip style better, giving you that extra stability and control you're looking for. Also, make sure to test different grips and barrel textures to find what feels right in your hand. Best of luck, and keep us updated on how your new darts perform! 🎯

I have been throwing for a year and i love the game. I throw a couple hours a day-6-7 days a week.
@DartsDecoded
@DartsDecoded 2 дня назад
That’s an interesting grip! 🎯 While most players use a different technique, there’s no 'one-size-fits-all' in darts. If your grip feels natural and gives you control, stick with it for now. Since you’ve only been playing for a month, it’s a good idea to focus on consistency first. Over time, if you feel like your grip is holding you back, you can experiment with small adjustments. Ultimately, it’s all about what works best for you! Keep practicing, and you’ll find what feels right. 👍

@DartsDecoded
@DartsDecoded 2 дня назад
That’s actually a pretty common grip for beginners, and holding it like a fountain pen can give you great control! 🎯 If it feels natural and you’re getting good consistency, stick with it for now. As you progress, you might experiment with small adjustments to see what gives you the best accuracy and comfort. Just remember, there’s no 'perfect' grip-what matters most is finding what works for you and gives you confidence. Keep practicing, and you’ll refine your technique as you go! 👍
