Georgetown University's Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs is dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of religion and the promotion of interreligious understanding.
Created in the office of Georgetown's President, Dr. John J. DeGioia in 2006, the Center builds on key university strengths: academic excellence; Washington, DC, location; international reach; and a Catholic and Jesuit tradition open to other faiths and the wider secular world.
There has never been any set of tools for females to cope with the ordination and the sex abuse and the corruption and history of patriarchy and there is something because it draws me but not in but on the margins hoping for a movement out change. As it is no not now and not for along time because the brokenness strips away creativity and joy. 1:00:18
when one is born and reared into a cultural paradigm, any barbaric practices will be normal. look at us today. we wage horrible wars and think it's morally justified. we haven't really improved all that much.
I love northern Ireland and all its people. This chap be he protestent or catholic seems to be a very nice chap and I would be happy to go to the pub and get pissed with him any time he likes. We could leave religion at the door because sadly although he is a nice bloke and well read he stance is bollocks.
McGrath Lost all credibility within 2 minutes of his opening statement when he said "The evidence for atheism." Atheism doesn't need evidence because it is not making a claim! The fact that he even said that states that he doesn't even understand what He's debating.
I thought exactly the same thing. Starting by saying "it was clear that science disproved god" and "swapping my old faith in atheism for faith in christianity" means you've already lost the entire debate. They cant help it, it's like faith is an infection of the mind, forcing them to say nonsense and ignore logic.
Five in One Pope! When Cardinal Tagle becomes Pope Francis II he will be made up of five Popes in one: the Vatican II spirit of Paul VI (his doctoral dissertation was on Paul VI's role in the Council); the smile (reflective of joy found in Christ) of John Paul I; the charisma (gift of attracting people and bringing them closer to Christ and the Church) of John Paul II; the theological mind of Benedict XVI (considered a first rate theologian by peers); and the pastoral heart (simplicity and closeness to the people he serves) of Pope Francis.
Where does this desire of human males to insist that the cosmos and natural world is somehow called to heel to misogyny and tyranny🤷♀️ Control and Ego!?!
I wish I knew another atheist in real life. All I've known has been immoral, dishonest, disgusting, double standard religious people who make horrible things because they know they're going to be forgiving.
Daniel larimer know that Luke Francis had my hair washed in his urine at a beauty shop run by Caitlyn Jenner? Did Brock Pierce know that Luke Francis had my hair washed in his urine ?
Did you know that Caitlyn Jenner was in the beauty shop where they pour the urine from Luke Francis on to my hair and pretty much let me know that they planned on killing me?
Christianity is not a European religion in origin. In fact, the Romans fought Christians for a long time. The religion of the southern part of Europe was a pagan religion of Greek origin. There was a different pagan understanding in the north, that is, in the lands where the Romans were less influential. At the end of the Roman period, there was a transition from paganism to Christianity. The people in the north later converted to Christianity.
The lovely thing about Plantinga is that he knows god personally. Where he lives, his favourite drink, what “racial” features he has. And he deduces all of this from a definition. Terrific work! Can’t wait to see the sequel!
"He gave most of that authority to be celebrated by the parish priests." And why? Maybe because many bishops would have refused their priests the right to offer the traditional Latin Mass, as many bishops hold great disdain for this Holy Mass Such sad times we are living in.
