@@CaptCharlieThomason but doesnt that restrict its natural movement? I feel like presentation takes a huge cut when live shrimp is rigged in this way, which is a big problem for picky specks
I see you are using the 9" Mr Twister blades... Have you tried their 9" max flex blade? Wondering if they are better than what you got there or would it be more difficult on the redfish?
Im curious, why a jig instead of a hook/circle? Ive been watching your stuff and know there is most likely a reason. Look forward to hearing back- Frank
Hey Captn Charlie. Just an FYI the knot you tied is an improved clinch knot. The Trilene knot is made by doubling through eye then twisting and then taking tag end under the double wrap and pulling tight.

I use exclusively 7ft 6in MH action with fast tips for either baitcasting or spinning rods. I will move to 7ft 6in H action during the winter months for bottom fishing and tight-lining.
On weed less spoons they tend to spin while retrieving so it will twist your line, but the inline spoons they tend to wobble and normally don’t twist the line but the weed less spoons will twist that line every time so a swivel is needed.
I always have a Johnson sprite rigged up to one of my poles. I’m in FL with clean water so we only throw a 1/8oz with light leader. Absolute fish catcher for sure. Also I’ve never had any issue with tying the leader straight to the spoon. I’ve tried both ways.
Charlie, great informative video, you make some of the best! Here’s a question off the subject, do you fish wake baits for reds? How deep does a wake bait fish? What is your two favorite colors for catching red fish
