Hi - I'm Graeme and this channel documents my adventures in fishkeeping. I've been a hobbyist for many years and while my favourite fish is the Discus I've kept loads of different and interesting fish. Hopefully you'll find some info and advice on not only Discus here, but other freshwater and marine fish too - having made most of the mistakes out there while I was a 'newbie' I wanted to pool my experiences and those of some experts to help other new people avoid the same pitfalls.
Hi It is my first time buying aquarium and I already added many fish on the third day. I added about 20 malawi fish in a 240 liter aquarium. The fish are rubbing their skin on the sand and stones. I didn’t know that I had to wait until the biological cycle is done. Now, I am on the 7th day. What can I do to fix this problem? Thanks
Hello Graeme ! Great to see you have started the project, looking forward to seeing more. Funnily, it was Discus that brought me to your channel, and I've been watching and following ever since ! Thank you 😊
My Discus (and other fish,) are all looking great, definetely didn't mix the water in with mine either as (as you mentioned,) you could definetely smell the foul water for most of the bags but they're all looking good overall 😀 thanks again !!
We have usually cut a aquarium down with thin wire. It cuts the silicon very easy. Fishing line works to but will keep breaking. Though your probably done it now 👍
Nice pond my friend or ponds all my ponds are solar powered I have a moss that will help you out with your back garden pond and not being able to see your fish from one RU-vidr to another my friend
Just got to say that it's seriously a great idea to acquire a few more razor blade tools and the one i use the most is made for detailing car interior glass . It definitely makes it safer since the handle is long with a little bit of an angle .
Thank you!!!! I’ve been battling cyano in my tank and could not figure out what was causing it. Picked up a phosphate test kit after watching this and yup super high. So relieved to finally have an answer.
Builders merchants would of shaved a few quid off timber also bulk buy screws from the likes of screwfix or tool station would of saved a sqiud or 2 . But still a good price for the size of the tank. Well done
Loved the video. I assume that the heater temperature has to be set above the T2 value so that the heater is controlled by the Inkbird and not the heater's thermostat. It seems to me that if the heater is set below, T2, the Inkbird power will stay on and you will get an E5 error
Lol, it’s always fun breaking glass… I’ve done it on purpose a few times for plumbing purposes. My stress levels could not be higher hahah. But I love the idea of a breeding discus factory! I’m down for it!
I recently got a few tanks and used malt vinegar and a razor blade to get rid of the water stains, be careful with the blade though! Nobody likes a tank with scratches in the glass! 😂 Good luck!
